Folks,

This really is a quick one for you... but who here is baffled by the current things that go on?
Air ride, sitting in fields with stupid camber, floor pans cut out because its that low.
Stretched tires, Huge pointless wings, the "rust" look, zombie apocalypse vehicles.

I honestly dont understand it? what happened to a nicely well sorted oem looking car?

I mean mods used to be about improving things to make them quicker/handle better not make them slower and dangerous.

I am perplexed by some of the stuff I see, however as long as the modifications don't make the vehicle dangerous, that's cool!

I suppose it's always been like it; I've a bus book or two at home and one of them has a scene featuring a modified Ford Anglebox. It's grille was painted in chequer, bumpers removed and extra lights on the front. The car would have been relatively new at the time of the photo.

How old are you Tom? The younger generation think this sort of thing is really cool I hate to follow lowered Golfs say, with blacked out rear lights, blinding HID's and mafia windows etc. and more often than not they're billowing oily smoke! I'd get the engine sorted before any mods.
Just seen you're 26, wot mods ya got then

No i think that was the internet. People look on there rather than buy various magazines. I think it would have always have changed, fashion doesn't stand still.

I don't "get" this for example... nor do I understand the fad with matte black paint, just makes it look like the driver is rubbish and has had to replace all the panes with unpainted pattern parts!

Good point! Being a Luddite, I don't have a PC and still buy magazines; never really thought about the influence of the 'net!

Im 26 yes,

But i just dont follow it, i have a friend who has an A3 2.0 Tdi, its 105bhp and he has spend 25k making it look like an RS3 with wide arches etc, he has Carbon ceramic brakes
Full custom pink/purple rs4 wingback seats and the rest is all carbon (real) and air ride plus stupidly expensive gay wheels.

Then you get the Mk4 golf with a remap and a dirty diesel sticker and soot everywhere.

I just dont understand it, i never understood the 90's bodykit era either... i like clean looking cars, nice lowerings, some aero and mainly oem+ parts.

You've all seen my Accord RS6 and MG they are tidy and not overly done or "ruined" in my opinion.
