I would suggest seeing if you can meet up with Jeff or Sean for this. I haven't had any of your problems, so there has to be something wrong (obviously), but I wouldn't really know what to suggest.

If you still want to clear the cache, you can also do this via the file manager.

Don't know what to try now... maybe I reinstalled wrongly after factory reset... I had trouble accessing IGO SD card...?? Would there be an igo folder on the internal hard drive? If so I may hve installed from that directory instead of sd card???

Anyone got any thoughts?
Regards John

PS I'll try my old version of TOMTom as I need a satnav programme that doesn't shut down when I don't want it to... seemed to shut down as stopped at intersection or lights???

Hmmmmm

That would be the guess,

Make sure you are setting the path to the card

Clearing the cache
1/. File Manager on Desktop
2/. Select Hard Disk
3/. then Folder ANDROID
4/. Folder DATA
5/. Folder com.google.android.apps
6/. folder CACHE
7/. Please and Hold CACHE until Pop up shows and then touch Delete

While you are there
You may want to also clear the other cache

8/. Folder com.android.ib
9/. folder CACHE
10/. Please and Hold CACHE until Pop up shows and then touch Delete

Cleared both caches as per what Sean said... checked path etc they were correct.... will check on trip today to see if that works... thanks for input guys!
But I am a bit baffled why an old sideloaded app that's not meant to be compatible with head unit (tomtom v 1.3?) is more stable than IGO??
Just to make sure of order:
A) Clear caches from file manager (as per Sean's post...)
B) Unistall IGO & delete save folder as per Tony Fry...
C) Then reinstall & check default app & path from settings shortcut button (navigation settings...)
Is that correct?
Regards John

I've got the TomTom app as well, but I stopped using it because it shuts down other apps that play music. And I want to hear music. iGo doesn't do this, and a proper working version is fairly stable. Any instability is more likely to be caused by the OS then the app.

Still same problem... wonder if satellite reception has anything to do with it? Tried tomtom & satnav part was stable but whenever vocal instruction was due the background music or radio app was shutdown & instrucion wasnt vocalised anyway ... bit frustrating...

Ok last thing I can suggest is that you copy your iGo on your SD to the harddisk on the head unit, go through all the stages again.

I.E clear cache, uninstall iGo, delete the save folder, then install iGo from the hard drive, by using the file manager.

Hi Tony, by hard drive, do you mean the android folder (under hard disk option...)? Or should I copy the files to a new directory called IGO (subfolder of android)?

Hi John

Yep copy the whole of iGo on the SD to the hard disk on the head unit making sure that there is then a directory on the hard driver called iGo, uninstall from the head unit ECT ECT.

I know when I first installed it from the SD card it showed a mesasge that a file was missing, but when I copied the whole iGo file to the hard drive it worked fin and I have not had any problems with it

There already should be a folder in the unit with all the IGO files you need.
If I remember correctly it's in SDCARD/ANDROID/IGO/
(the funny thing is, SDCARD doesn't refer to a physical SD card, but it refers to a piece of the hard drive that the user has free access to).
