Not sure I would call it "profit machine" but merely getting back an hourly rate for the work that has been put in
To be fair, it was the OP on here who spent the money on detailing the car, not the current eBay seller. Also, by his own admission, the eBay seller spends c£40 on a valet so he's turning a pretty decent margin on the car with minimal outlay...

What on earth is wrong with someone trying to make money on a car?
Everyone had a chance to buy it on here at a good price, now we have people moaning that the price has gone up, and yet we complain that our cars are worth nothing !!!
If it goes for strong money good luck to the bloke, can't do any harm to any of us..

£1932 for a service? That is more than I paid for most of my cars. What did they do?

I guess it's all relative.... I was happy with what I got for the car, so good luck to him.

By the looks of the photo's, though, he has not valeted the car, as it looks the same as it did when I sold it.... but I will stand corrected....

My only regret is that it did not go to one of the members on here, as I thought that it was....

The cars only seem to be worth nothing on here but elsewhere good examples fetch good money.

Advertising on other websites is not a problem to me as there's a good chance a newcomer and future enthusiast will be introduced to this fine Marque

That's just how found mine Jules, on Gumtree. The lad I bought it off put me onto this forum and told me all about the mods he had done. A great result on both counts. I am now a big fan of the marque and I will be looking for an auto tourer soon. Pref auto. This one is a beauty but pointless for me with a dog who loves mud!

That is the longest ad I have ever seen on E bay. Ten out of ten for effort.

All his other adverts are just as comprehensive, no excuse for backing out of a deal through false information ???????

A good advert with good pictures works a treat. my last two 75's were sold on ebay. Both went for very good money. In each case I could find similar cars that appeared to be just as good as mine for much less, also on ebay.

The only difference was the adverts, others used crappy photos, minimal write ups showing no enthusiasm for the car or its condition and the sellers often can't be bothered to answer questions properly or sensibly... (Terrible grammar puts people off also, init )

I asked one of the buyers as he was leaving why he'd driven 150 miles to buy my car when I'd seen several closer to him for a lower price. It was the comprehensive advert and my willingness to talk to him in a friendly open manner at length, as apparently most people won't or can't!

Has really good feedback as well, cracking advert even though his choice of font does not view well on my work monitor
