Walnut handbrake surround
Hi just wondered if any-one can help, I have just purchased from ebay a walnut surround for the handbrake, it arrived today so I would like to fit it.
How is this done, I know that the plastic surround is pulled away then you take the rubber gromet away to free the leather cover. but how does the old handbrake surround come off??? I do not want to tap it with a hammer in case this is wrong. if any-one can advise it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lee

The original plastic one should just pull off with a bit of pressure.
It is probably best to remove the gaitor altogether by unclipping the plastic surround from the centre console. The pull off the handbrake cover. When the whole lot is off it is easier to uncouple the original and replace it with your shiny wooden one

As CDTi said, no need for tools, I had to twist mine off, but it's only stuck on IIRC

You will need a lot of pennies I'm afraid.
Maybe we should organise a whip round.
