I guessed it was time again for another update, car has been performing very very well, the Magnecor plug leads made a huge difference and was probably the best £30 I have spent on her so far.

Other than that I was playing about with a USB stick and put it in the slot on the 6 tonight, amazingly it brought the pictures up that were on the USB and automatically started a slideshow, you can even choose one and have it for the boot up screen!

The car has been great on fuel, it uses no oil and the coolant level never moves, it also has a low coolant sensor and an alarm when it detects a coolant level drop so if it were to ever drop a warning appears on the dash with "Coolant Low", it sounds a noise and an additional warning also appears, one other thing it has is that if the temperature were to rise above normal then the segments on the electronic coolant temperature display go red and also sound a noise when it gets to these points so its been quite well thought out.

im still loving the handling and ride and people compliment me on the car and say how unusual it is which helps to adds to the feel good feel, im looking forward to taking it to the Scottish All Rover Rally this weekend although I don't think it will generate much interest.

Keep up the good work Thomas. Some of us are looking at cars now as potential purchases in the future. The 6 is certainly on my list.

Well done Thomas, glad to learn you are enjoying your 6. I kind of wish I had kept mine now. Don't expect too much at the event. I took my 6 to POL last year and no one spoke to me or came near the car even though I parked in the middle of our club parking area! Maybe I should have parked with the other 6's lol
I put my own 6 report on here, you may be interested to have a look.
Now that I am running a 75 tourer, I may ditch my daily Xtype drive and look for a decent 6 again.
Best wishes

Time for another update, car still performing well, still hasn't used a drop of oil or coolant.

The rumour mill has been going for the last few months that the MG6 was being discontinued and unfortunately this has now been confirmed as true. I can see the point as it was never a huge seller which was probably mostly down to poor marketing (or non- existent) and people being put off by the badge and its past history.

so that means that the MG6 is one of the most exclusive cars on the road.

as an MG6 owner I have read a lot of people bemoaning residuals etc however I personally arent fussed as I got the car for a great price and I do intend to keep it so if I have it another 5 or 6 years and its worth nothing at the end then it wont be anything different to my 75.

My mates just bought an MG3, what a cracking little car. The handling and ride are spot on.

I had the car on a holiday up to Nairn and then we toured around the North and up to Ullapool, car done great on the twisty roads and it drove well and handled being fully laden with our holiday gear, kids bikes etc.

Still hasn't used a drop of coolant or oil and driving well

I think that might be the first mg3 I've seen without alloys , there are loads round here all seem to be top spec ones ,air from Perkins of Rayne .

Haven't been on here since who knows when!

My 6 went through its first MOT, no advisories so all looks good in that department, nothing else to report really, it starts and behaves itself very well (so far).

we are off to Nairn and Dornoch for a family holiday with it next week which will be the second time the car has been up North, last time it handled great even fully loaded with all the family's luggage so im expecting it to be much the same this time.

I have a set of TSE alloys to get fitted as soon as I get tyres on them next month and my se wheels will be kept in the shed with my winter tyres fitted.
