Definitely interested in a heated front screen, fed up with all the condensation and ice that forms overnight.
Hope this will send, had problems last night

Whom do I send my deposit to, sorry I am no use with these things just give me a screen and the old cripple will fit it and wire it up. Things just take me much longer now. Please drop me an email. My current screen in the tourer is delaminating at the top offside corner. And the ability to still have rainsensor and the advantage of a heated screen up here in darkest Scotland would be great.

Thank you Vinnie for clarifying the current situation. Carry on Sir

we have one of these screens fitted to one of the TFs, just to add.......

fitting was about £40 through an independent windscreen fitter

the screen will most likely come with 2 sets of wires as the heating element is actually two seperate units as opposed to one big unit, the power draw off these is very large and we found it better to wire them in independiantly through 2 seperate relays etc

chances are delivery will be slightly later than promised (in our experience anyway)

we think they are well worth the money!!

obviously you could use the wiper at about half way point through this video as the frost is then soft enough not to damage the wipers

Thanks for the extra info Phil

Could you perhaps advise on the fuse recommended, and perhaps what to keep in mind when searching for the right switched live?
Did you put the live for the button on the switched live, and the main power source directly to the battery?

it was found that each element was drawing 17amps so they were wired using 20 amp wire,20amp fuse and 30amp relays (one relay for each element)

the main power is direct from the battery switched via the relay, it was switched various ways ours being done through the heated rear window (we have glass back windows), others used seperate switches and timers...... one word of warning thet windows just need a couple of minutes to clear after that they start to get hot so a timer of some sort is needed

hope that helps a little

Mentioned these to the girlfriend and got an immediate "Oooh! Like the XF had? Can I has?"

So - put me down for two in total - the one with rain sensor I'd already dibbsed on, and another one without rain sensor.

Do you know - is it possible to get these with a graduated sun strip along the top?

I did ask for that strip at the top of the screen, the manufacturer recommends to do it before or after installing with an aftermarket sticker.

If they need to make one with this strip, they need to adjust the manufacturing process. That would make it very expensive. He hasn't used the word "no", but it was pretty clear that the costs involved would make it very unrealistic.
