I have just been checking the airbag fuse, F18, 5A.
It is covered by a yellow cover. How does one remove this fuse?

Ok. Got the fuse out ok, by pulling the top of the yellow retaining clip at the top using a pair of long nose pliers. I have left the fuse out for the recommended (by PABS) 20 minutes, then reinserted the fuse. Unfortunately the airbag light is still continuously lit.

Any other ideas ?

BTW No sunroof, so footwell flooding is unlikely to have occurred.

I inspected the 6 way wiring harness inside the rear bumper for the rear parking sensors. (If you have the 12 way harness, this problem will not apply to you as there are no joints to corrode!). There are two joints for the brown and black wires, crimped and wrapped in blue tape. The crimps and wire were extremely corroded and possibly faulty.

See http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=105060 & http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...t.php?p=557422 for further details.

The joints were remade. Unfortunately the parking sensors still do not work.

However, listening to the sensors, I can now hear two out of the four sensors ticking. So I think in the morning, I will remake the joints.

Ho Hum !!!

I have already tried disconnecting and reconnecting several times.
It's the yellow plugs buddy

I have a continuous airbag fault.

FYI I have electric seat adjustment (front/back/lift and tilt, no memory function), seatbelt pretensioners, and (I believe) side airbags in the seat uprights.

All connectors under both front seats have been disconnected, inspected for damage and corrosion, and reconnected. The connectors are clipped back into their mounting holes.

Under both front seats, there is a 2 pole yellow connector, a 2 pole blue connector, and an 8 pole black connector with 4 wires going to the seat. What do these wires do ?
Mr Haynes is rather uninformative.

A problem with either the airbag (yellow) or pre tensioner (blue) wiring will bring the fault light up. Another possible cause is the impact sensors under the carpets, if they get wet corrosion kills them! I'd advise getting the car on a T4 if possible, it will take all the guesswork and frustration out of finding the cause. I thought I'd cured an airbag light only for it to return, I gave up and had the car T4'd, turned out to be nothing to do with the wiring, it was a defective pre tensioner.

Ok.
The blue connector has yellow wiring going to it, and the yellow connector has guess which colour wiring going to it ???
Were they on acid when they designed this ?

Hi Mark, If the airbag light fault is not solved by unplugging the yellow and blue plugs, the side impact sensor may be causing the fault. Check both sides for water ingress under the carpets, check sensor for corrosion.

Your reverse sensors, have you checked all four to see if they are clicking? Ignition on, select reverse gear and listen to each sensor with ear up close, if you find one not clicking, that should be the issue causing the fault with the system.

Good luck,

Rob
I was having trouble with airbag light for years especially if drivers seat had been moved. Eventually wiggling it didn,t work. After leaving ignition off for a few hours, I cut through the wires at both ends of the yellow connector. Removed the connector and replaced it with a couple of those plastic block connectors with the screws in that clamp the wires inside. I,ve had no trouble with it since, it only comes on when it should, when you turn the ignition on and then go out. An extra precaution would be to disconnect the battery before you cut the wires but luckily I got away without the airbags going off.
