Update
For those that may not know (including me), the airbag light can illuminate under fault condition in two different ways during starting:
1) the light can come on for a few seconds, occult (go out) for a second, then come back on. This indicates that the airbag DCU is working but has detected a fault condition. 2) the light comes on and stays on (without occulting). This indicates that the instrument pack cannot communicate with the airbag DCU. This, in all probability, is because the DCU itself has failed, and needs replacing, and possibly programming, using a T4. A local member put his T4 on the Tourer. The T4 failed to communicate with the airbag DCU. The airbag light failed to occult as described above. The airbag DCU was replaced with a secondhand unit, it was reprogrammed from being a saloon version, to a tourer version (which I believe does not have rear seatbelt pretensioners), and miraculously, the airbag light went out. Many many thanks to CB750CHRIS for his invaluable assistance, and expertise. He is a credit to this club. |

Glad to be of help Mark
As mentioned not the first time I have seen a dead airbag control unit...Still at least it was "only" that, so a quick swap and reprogram and all sorted (why they went to the effort to remove the warnings is beyond me - at garage labour rates it would still have been cheaper to replace the deceased unit. Oh well. Good luck with the fan

One final problem
Ok, one final problem.
When I operate the windscreen washers, the washer pump works as expected. However all I get is a brief (<1 second) jet of water, then no more water. The washer bottle is full. The Tourer does have a rear washer jet and wiper. Any ideas ? |

Yes, you can peel the wheel arch liner back and do this, but given that you need to replace the resistor on your fan you may as well take the bumper off and do both jobs at the same time
