When you turn on the ignition, listen for the under bonnet pump running. If it doesn't run when you turn on try giving it a good rap with the heel of your shoe and see if it perks up. Often the answer can be fairly simple, That's the best place to start.

Managed to fix it!
Got it home 15mph tow
Removed both pipes from the fuel filter turned on ignition
Lots of bubbling and coughing trumping etc before fuel started to flow sweetly. Replaced pipes and it started first time been out and about it works just as it should. I think he'd run it that low that it was sucking in air and needed a quick bleed..
Thanks for all the advice
Much appreciated

Fantastic news! But i have a half tank of fuel, a fully charged battery and i have a steady flow of fuel at the pump, when pipes are disconnected. Fuel at the injectors also. Mine just turns over and will not start.

Just awaiting Trikey to bring his T4 and work his magic.

RAC advised crank sensor 😢?

Crank sensor.......see if the tachometer needle is moving when you are cranking the engine

If it's moving the crank sensor won't be a likely port of call.

I sent Andy on his way with a virgin ECM this evening after tea, so if it's that, he'll be prepared for a worst case scenario

Very strange as the fuel system is self bleeding.---

You really don't have to remove any pipes. Just give the system a few extra seconds to sort itself out.----

I did try to crank it again and the needle miniscule moved ?
