Will have to try to come up with something.
Just a thought - polish out what you can around the letters, then a few coats of clear lacquer to fill the scratches you can't get at, before polishing overall?

Mine were fairly scratchy bit the bullet and attacked them with Peek metal polish, improved them no end certainly not perfect but an improvement, and tge lettering stayed intact.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, however a solution has been found. My wife just said to me: "why not just buy new ones?" Woo hoo, don't need telling twice when it comes to spending money on Baby, so popped an order in to Rimmers before minds get changed!

I think you will need to remove the paint first Clyde

That's cheating, taking the easy option.....

At least you will be able to experiment with the originals.

I like cheating. And you're right, I can have a go at the originals without too much fear of messing them up. Win Win.

Default Polished the Chrome Kickplates on my ZTT.

I have polished the chrome kickplates on my ZTT, they are not perfect, but look quite impressive compared to how they were before. I used Autosol, a microfibre cloth and lots of careful polishing and buffing.

Before:

They look really good Clyde. Better than my new ones, as I couldn't bring myself to take the protective plastic film off them after fitting.

One thing I've discovered (thanks to some advice from Suzublu): These fittings are very easy to remove - they can just be prised up from the sill (use something plastic though, so you don't damage the paint). A 10 minute job that's worth doing, as it allows you to get rid of that line of dirt \ dust that inevitably appears around the black plastic at base of the trim (you can see some in the bottom left of your photo below). With the trim in place, it's difficult to clean properly without getting polish on the plastic.

Thanks Cliff.

I will have to look into removing the kickplates and it will make it a lot easier to cleam them as well.

While you've got them off, spray some waxoyl or similar into the sills
