Default Alarm

Yesterday evening I came out of a meeting and the alarm on the car was going mad - not sure how long it had been going on. I could not turn it off with the remote or the key - the car had unlocked itself and theignition lights were on. I called the RAC and by the time they arrived the alarm had stopped, but the battery was flat. The car started normally with a jump start ( it showed a lighting fault initially on the dash, but this went away. I drove home(about 18 miles) and all was OK . The car started normally this morning, but the alarm went off again mid morning. The alarm tuned off with the remote, but the rear lights and brake light stayed on for a while.
Any ideas?

I'll be the first to ask the obvious then - plenums checked and clear? ECU got wet? More knowledgeable people will, I'm sure, be along with other possibilities.

Chad.

I would say if you have a b-bus installed it was that going off if the battery was flat, you may have left the lights on?
