53 reg conny 1.8 petrol, won't start.
53 reg conny 1.8 petrol
Got in this morning & despite the engine turning over with half a tank of fuel it will not fire up. The lights do not dim when cranking over & the battery seems to have plenty of grunt in it. Last night it was -5 here ( Liverpool) & it is presently 5 degrees where the car is parked in the shade. Any clues. Thanks in advance. |

I'd wager the intank fuel filter/module has seperated.
You have the typical symptoms, car was working, you left it, came back to it & it won't start. Have a look in the How To's, there's a guide in there. Or call the recovery service & let them do it - if you are a member.

My first thoughts:
Flooded plenum? Detached fuel filter? More or less in that order. Deatils here: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=9108 TC Last edited by T-Cut; 16th February 2008 at 10:40.. |

Definately not flooded plenum.
Just checked through the spyhole mod. Will check filter & hope it's an easy fix. |

I'd plump for the detached filter then....

Have you got the details of where the filter is and access?
If not see here:- http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/down...ile=tid005.pdf Ignore the self tapping screw advice and install WJC000230 orange clip to prevent the filter unscrewing again. |
