Wood & leather steering wheel
Seeing pete's thread about SMC reminds me for any of you chasing a steering wheel (new), SMC have one on ebay finishing @15.15 12th. NOV.
Last bid was for £82, bargain if you get it near that. Item No. 130045232494. Sorry to put it on here but time short and would like a club member to have a go. Good Luck |

Sorry. Didn't notice that. Hope one of the club members gets it at a good price (or is the reserve stupid ?)
Don't know if it has audio & Cruise controls. Mine was £250 new with airbag & controls in Nov. 2003

I think SMC sent out a BIN email for £225 but this has not got the radio controls or the cruise controls

Cruise controls on new wheel
Doesn't matter if the new wheel hasn't got all the controls you need, or has got some that you don't, for that matter. It's a simple job to switch the backplate and the controls from your existing wheel. The worst bit is that you need an extra hand to get all the backplate clips off at the same time - they want to spring back.
I did mine inside an hour, including waiting the 25 minutes or so after disconnecting the battery before starting work, as I stripped down the new wheel while I was waiting. |

Dunno about safety, think of the price of a "rare" airbag, LOL :0))
