Default Door cards - again!

I'm trying to remove my door cards (drivers side first) to replace the plastic clips (and put a firtree type near the lock button) using the excellent "how to" on the site. Talk about falling at the first hurdle - having levered out the window/mirror switch, it was easy to disconnect the black socket (mirrors?)- but I'm beggared if I can remove the white one (windows?) - there is no obvious sign of clips to depress, but when I try to pull it straight out - it is damned tight. I obviously don't want to damage either the socket or the pins beneath it - am I missing something simple?
