Then I used a couple of small washers on the screws so I could tighten it all up. May be of some use to you. Andy

I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem with the bent lugs even if you had to send it back, Jeff (Coolcat) says they have to be bent in another thread.
Yes mine sits flush at the bottom as well. Have to say it's worth persevering as once it's in properly it's a cracking unit. Andy

There are also other problems with it. Maybe I should start a blog - it would already run into many pages.

Radioguy has just told me that I now need to buy some more equipment to make it work properly - an SD card and reader

The hiss you are experiencing will be sorted by the update that Sean will give you , mine had the same problem.
Are you getting the DD unit in far enough to be flush at the bottom, unless you get it in far enough the top will not sit correctly, I had a similar problem and as I said earlier I trimmed the sides of the dashboard in the DD hole and it went in Ok and sits flush all round, persevere and you'll get it to fit. |

Re the fitting of the unit.
Sometimes you have to cut away the plastic piece at the back of the aperture. You can see it in this picture, it also shows the bracket to be removed. Remove the ATC panel when sliding the radio back, ensure the wires, either for the radio or any other are stopping the radio going fully back. You can feel the two spring clips at the bottom left and right of the head unit by putting one hand under the radio and locating the clips. Also, you may have to remove a very small amount of the left and right side of the sandstone/grey fascia surround. Do not try and pull the head unit further back by the two top self tappers of the radio. The sandstone/grey plastic is not that strong and can be torn from the fascia opening. Dave T |

Sorry that you're having so many problems with yours.
Can't say I've noticed any hiss on my radio so I wouldn't say all suffer the same problem. Hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction.

Earlier? In a different thread ? Not sure I’ve seen that one… glad to see I’m not the only one with these problems though. I’d been starting to feel a complete dork…
