Default Announcing 14th National Meet: Sunday 17th March 2013

Announcing the 14th National Meet
on Sunday 17th March 2013

The Club's 14th National Meet will be held on
Sunday March 17th 2013
at
The National Botanic Garden Of Wales
Llanarthne
Carmarthenshire
SA32 8HG

Between 10am and 4:30pm

The National Botanic Garden of Wales opened in May 2000 &
has been voted the number 1 ‘Wonder of Wales’, ’Most Romantic Garden’,
‘Best Children’s Garden’ & ‘Best Afternoon Tea’ by the Western Mail

They have an amazing collection of over 8,000 different plant varieties,
spread across 560 acres of beautiful countryside, and have developed
a stunning range of themed gardens that appeal to a wide range
of visitors, from those who just love the sight and smells of flowers
to those who want to know about medicinal plants or the latest
DNA research into plant evolution.

In addition, they have the world’s largest single spanned glasshouse,
designed by Lord Foster, that has the best display of Mediterranean
climate zone plants in the Northern hemisphere.

This first national of 2013 is designed to be less museum-centric
and more family orientated, with plenty for those not as
interested in all things automotive to see and experience

There are several places to eat at the gardens, with the 'Seasons'
Restaurant located in the Stable Block aiming to use foods that are
organic and as local as possible.

In addition, 'The Gatehouse Cafe' can be found at the Garden entrance.
It’s a lovely place to come and relax whilst enjoying the taste of Wales
with locally made and sourced light food and drinks. You can also buy
Welsh made produce such as laver bread, jams, cheeses & cakes.

We have a parking area set aside in the grounds themselves,
and as always there'll be the customary raffle as well as items
for sale from the Club Shop at subscribed member prices.
The Gryphon Award for best car voted by you will also be presented.

The specially reduced entrance fee for the meet is
£5.00 for adults (usual price £8.50) & £4.00 for children (5-16 years)
and includes full entry to the attraction itself.

Please indicate your interest by posting in this thread.
Entrance fees will be collected on the day,
where you will be issued with a special ticket for admission to the grounds.
