SAVE THE LONGBRIDGE 4!!!!!! And other S & T plate cars.

Thanks to hard work of Martin Green and other members. We have Located 4 Yes 4 S plate Rover 75's all of them are at Longbridge and all are due to be scrapped so Martin and myself are trying to buy them. I am going to add pictures later so keep watching. In adition to the 4 at Longbridge I have spent 4 hous today making up this list.

Pre launch cars have different specs to later cars. Here are some of the differeces from VIN 001482


Boot Plinth without embossed Rover letters.

Matt Black plastic Hazard light surround as apposed to Walnut effect

Smooth Harman Kardon unit in boot as opposed to unit with ridges in it.

Black Parking sensors (Not body coloured)

Hi Andy,

Its excellent news mate, However Reynard 55 said they are going to scrap this car S525 OVP and the others that are with it. THESE CARS ARE THE CARS THAT LAUNCHED ROVER WITH THE 75.

They are mostly covered in the launch magazines, They cannot be scrapped at all, I just hope we can get MG-Rover to release them from Longbridge, but they are up for disposal, then why not sell them to the Rover 75 club?.

There are approx only 25 "S" reg Rover 75's in existance mate, There are 4 left at Longbridge interested in saving these beautiful cars from washing machine land.(been trying to find one for a year) like buses all come at once kind of thing.

Any club worth its salt must save the prototype/pre-launch models. I cannot imgaine the Morris Minor boys letting there pre-launch models getting crushed, Just how we go about it is a new road ahead. SAVE THE S REGS...

That tourer with N reg plates, surely they were not testing rover 75 tourer that long ago were they?, or is that just a plate they place on the vehicles when doing the tests etc?

also the M reg Rover 75 car splashing through the water?., was that 1995 then?

Its a W not an M on my monitor.. Is the S525 OVP white or Primrose?

Dvla say the tourer was built 1999 and car number 2 was built 1998
