Warwick Rover meet 27th June pics
It was the Rover Sports Register meet, a most enjoyable well organised meet, weather was scorching, and the venue was superb. The turnout was better than I expected, all in all a great day, I will certainly attend another.
Can you believe John Astons' superb MkI got the award for best 75 and I did not. Just because it is a lot better than mine (ok I voted for him but that is not the point). Here he is arriving at noon and trying to make a sharp exit before I could take his pic (yeh right) perhaps 30 yeard ago he might have been quick enough The venue does not look that big but it was massive. First to arrive in the Rover 75 class was a tourer Then someone in a tourer Next to arrive was someone in a tourer I thought I was in a tourer section, until someone parked next to him in a........... tourer Now I was thinking this would be weird if Starbug, Wolves 75, and WIDE LOAD were here Then someone arrived in a tourer, thank god I am glad VWGeezer (I think) pulled up Before the next 2 tourers, as I was thinking twilight zone Followed by whatshisname from Belgium (sorry forgot your name) in his spiffing SE sporting a walnut armrest lid, walnut switch panels, and a club badge. A selection of pics The owners were parading around the venue in these, was neat to see . .

I have lots of info about the club, will post the next meet, I might join so I can try and talk them to having the following class of car Rover 75 2004 facelift Firefrost manual diesel tourer with smokestone/ash grey leather interior and Serpents, and the owner has to be named Steve. Oh and it must be sporting a shiney new pre drive grille badge Just once, so I can have a good shot at best in class award

great pics Steve, definitely on my list next year and well pleased for John Aston, myabe his neighbour will go next year and beat him as he has a 75 with even less miles than John does as you know, where is the picture of the walnut armrest lid ?
To think i missed this meet so i could watch England v Germany, i certainly made the wrong choice ! See you at 4 Ashes this week

We would have been there Steve, but it was a bit late to sort work out, looks like a cracking day, nice to see a copperleaf tourer there, seems every meet has one, might Matt Black mine then I can be different ..........
I could have brought my MG X Power BMX and entered the bicycle section...... Last edited by Wolves 75; 28th June 2010 at 23:20.. |
