Default The next BIG club event is......

Well, we’ve been working on this for quite a while now, and it has caused a few bitten fingernails as we waited for conformation, but now we’re absolutely delighted to let you know about a great new event for later this year:

The Rover 75 and MG ZT Owners Club will be at the NEC Classic Car Show 2010.

This is the hugely regarded annual show, where 40,000 people come to an NEC packed to the rafters with exhibits, shows, some very special features, celebs, auctions, parts, and lord knows what else!

The show is regularly over-subscribed for space and so we are honoured to have been invited to be alongside so many illustrious marques and much longer established owners clubs.

Not only that, but we have a discounted ticket offer for club members, which we will be telling you all about very soon.

Just to whet your appetite, and before we get the final layouts scaled up, we have about 120 square metres which means we have space for either 3 or 4 cars. It goes without saying that S525 will be there, but we are also working on an extremely special exhibit coming along too. It really is a ‘stay tuned’ one and we will let you know when we have permission to do so - we already have a verbal yes to our approach but there are some matters with the other party that they have to sort out before we can go public, and they have asked us not to divulge anything until they give the nod.

You have to allow for room for people to walk round and the various parephanalia involved with having a stand, hence why the small number.

It's about 11m by 11m or 35 ft by 35 ft.

No it's not! it's 10m x 12m, or about 30ft x 40ft.

To demonstrate... this is a 30ft x 40ft grid, and the red areas are the rough size of a 75 or ZT (16ft x 6ft).

er, a footie pitch is way bigger, but I get your meaning. It sounds like there will be a lot of space but in reality it's about getting a balance between having good viewing ability for the cars on display and having a representative range on view along with also having the usual facilities on such a stand. Having said that, suggestions are more than welcome.

The minimum size for a footy pitch is 120 x 90 metres therefore 10,800 sq metres.......

Me thinks the poster has his sq metres and normal metres mixed up

Anyway, back on thread........

Fantastic news. Bit of a trek for me but will try and make it. Maybe a convoy from down south is in order!!!!

Looking forward to the announcement too.

Great to see club going forwards - well done guys
