Default retrofitted Electric rear sunblind.

Well finally got around to fitting my electric sunblind over the last two days...

Two days you say well i bought a sandstone one off ebay with the cut out for HK, so i had to remove all the relevant stuff and refit it to my non sunblind rear shelf....(most of the time was waiting for the glue to dry...lol)

shelf that i bought next to mine after i had cut out the strip for the blind...
.
the wiring already present under my existing shelf

.
holding clips and screw clips removed from ebay parcel shelf and glued onto my shelf using arldite, this is to hold on the electric sun blind to the underside of the shelf..

.
shelf fitted back into my car with the sunblind in place...what a nightmare getting it back in....came out easy, but with the added metal of the sunblind it was a little more challenging to refit..

.
A shot of the blind up in position

.
And finally a short youtube video of it in operation...excuse the music damn radio 1 and Fern cotton.

The first one I did, I had to do the same and bond the mounts to the new shelf. Luckily, the last one (2004) the mounts where already there...

Getting it back is a pain, but if you find the correct angle, it does simply slide in.

Well done you!

so tell me how did you manage to remove and rebond the clips onto the bottom of the parcel shelf without removing it? or have all yours been there?

I assume that they were manual blinds and not electric ones....

Took me best part of an hour to fit my electric blind but I was lucky everything was in place just a matter of old out and new in. Thing is though can't say I use it much, but it's a gadget so can't be bad.

I've seen g-macs blind and it is definitely electric as he was showing me it working. One of the other cars he fitted a blind to was there and was also electric.
