Battery drain current logged using a DC digital clamp meter, not the most accurate but should be within about +-5%
The measurements were taken on the battery main earth lead.

2004, R75 CDTi ConnSE. Sat Nav, Parrot Bluetooth, Icelink Plus
Original Battery.

Measurements....

Ignition off, car locked up,
4.7 Amp, after sat nav shut down drops to 2.5 Amp, 15 minutes later still same reading
0.57 Amp after 60 minutes
The next test will be to check the drain when the car has been left overnight.

Next morning tests...
0.48 Amp
.... note this is too high !
Looks like it is being caused by I-Bus activity !
Icelink Interface was not operating correctly, the tag names were not displayed on the TV screen.
PBs 1-5 & 6 had no effect on the I-Pod, looks like the interface had locked up repeatedly sending data on the IBus
Interface reset by disconnection.
Drain current after 16 Minutes...
88mA .... this is still a bit high, would expect 30mA or less, but from what I could see searching
the Web this is about normal. Rave manual gives no data on this drain current.

Update, 3 Nov 06
New MKIV BMW nav fitted 2 Nov 06
Drain current now 66mA after 16 minutes.
.... Looks like BCU shuts systems down if no IBus/Kbus activity.

Ignition off car unlocked
4.7 Amp, drops after a few minutes to 4.3 Amps
.... Turning Ignition off, Sat powered down after 1min 20 Secs

Key on 1st position
4.3 Amp, no interior lights on, radio not on, screen display on
The readings are not stable, flicking between 4 and 5 Amps, average about 4.3 Amps.
radio or TV switched on, little or no difference to above current drain.
4 Amps when Screen switched off
Little or no difference when Icelink Plus or Parrot Bluetooth disconnected.

Ignition on 2nd position, engine not running
22 Amps with both fuel pumps running... both pumps confirmed as running by listening to them.
9.1 Amps when pumps stop, also seen it dropping to about 6.5 Amps, no idea why.
72 Amps with glowplugs on
drops to 22 Amps when glowplugs turn off

Cooling Fan, tested on Ign 2, engine not running, fuel pumps stopped, meter zeroed before fan started.
18.5 Amp Low fan speed ....easy to test with the PIC system installed
22.2 Amp Med fan speed
27.7 Amp High fan speed

Battery volts

12.59 V Before fan tests.
12.09 V After fan tests.

Engine started on idle
Battery 14.34 V
Charge Rate 35 Amps .... High charge rate caused by the Cooling fan tests carried out without engine running.

After 10 Mile run
At idle 14.35 Volts
Charge Rate 3 Amps

Let me know what other drain info would be useful and I will measure and update the thread.

Maybe Under bonnet fuel pump & tank fuel pump ?
