Diesel Pump Leak News

Have found the problem with my diesel leak. Or at least where it is leaking from.

The high pressure pump is leaking from the covers on the front and side. Only leaks at a visible rate when very cold first thing in the morning, as the car warms the leak seams to disappear.

Car is 04 ZT CDTi 43000ish miles, seams to be a bit early for problems like this.

Anyone any suggestions my mechanic says it's pump out and sent away for a refurb which sounds expensive.

to replace the injection pump requires special rover tools as the pump is driven of the timing chain,otherwise the tension we be lost. the pump is about 400.00 unless you can source a second hand unit on ebay as to labour i would say half a day

thanks for that, hopng for a recon though to keep cost down as it was pumping fine.

Interesting it looks like a mini supercharger from the diagram.
