The security systems on our cars is Thatcham CAT 2 So already highly rated

ZT Alarm and Imobiliser Thatcham CAT2
EWS 3 TE2 –1033/1198 T S D MG ZT Jul 01 – on S

EWS3 - Is the type of Thatcham system fitted

TE2 1033/1198 - Is Thatcham's evaluation code

TSD - Is Thatcham's feature code for that particular alarm system (T=Transponder, D=Suitable for Diesels, etc)

S - Standard fitment to R75 from November 1998 onwards and ZT's from Jul 2001 onwards

It is well worth fitting the Internal sensors not fitted as standard to give the Interior of Car Alarm Protection.
Many people think this is fitted as standard, it Isn't!

Has anyone successfully done this then? Is it simply a case of buying all the necessary bits and connecting it up or would you need to reprogram the car too?

I purchased all the Parts from XPart and they fitted the Alarm Module fitted, Cable was also in Roof lining, T4 wasn't required.
earlier models I believe were on pillar between doors.
Mine is a MK2 R75.
I can find receipt and list all parts if required by anybody.

The early 75's had a different sensor just above the R/H "B" pillar. It is the same part number as the 800 series Rover. Comes in two colours - Sandstone or Smokestone. Proberbly cheaper to get an 800 one from a breakers as well.

Part Numbers are:
YWC102890LPR - Transducer-Control unit ultrasonic - Light Smokestone
YWC102890SCD - Transducer-Control unit ultrasonic - Sandstone Beige

The centrally mounted unit on later 75's is:
YWC112250 - Transducer-Control unit ultrasonic - headlining assy centre

Either option will require the loom extension (or make your own) from the plug behind the front interior light housing

I fitted the Roof fitting and will sort out the additinal Part numbers later,
BUT
If doing the door pillar version remember the Curtain Airbags are there before digging about blindly.

There's another part number on the list of the X-Part offers:
YWC001430 TRANSDUCER-CONTROL UNIT ULTRASONIC £515.01 (£257.51 to members)
Is that the same thing?
