I bought a second hand towbar from another forum member. (Cheers Alan). It came with a black and a white socket on the bar and a bag of bits for the electrics. This includes a black Canbus Multiplex Wiring Seven Way Bypass Relay (e11.020867) and an orange coloured Smartcom box (also e11.020867) and some long lenghts of wire.

Im fitting it next week. Ill only use the the black socket for towing a small trailer and electrics is not my strong point.

Can any kind fellow supply some details about what wires into what?

If I can get all the details I might even wire in the White fridge and battery socket.

Thanks for that Simon. The relay on the link looks different to mine but the colour of the wires and what they are for tallies up with the relay that I have.

I know Im a bit of a divvi when it come to electrics. Am I right in thinking that the wires from the socket cable wire into the little screws on the left of the picture?
And the the wire coming out of the right hand side of the relay in yur picture; they simply break into the wires in the car? eg the yellow one i connect to the LH indicator in my car?

And finally; the "12v permanent line fused at 25 AMPs", where do I wire that to???

Really appreciate your help Simon.

Yes thats correct, although I must say I didnt wire mine in, Harry on heres Son did mine :D as I too am probably more of a divvi.

But he did use a print out of that thread for the wiring.

In terms of the 12v that has to come from the front of the car, there was a orange cable behind the glove box that he chopped in to and then ran along the sill trims, which involved rear seat removal.

That is about right, though I would suggest using a larger cable than is strictly necessary for the current from front to back, to avoid volts drop.
