Ive read here that the IPK when entering the diagnostics mode shows the tank fuel levels given from both level senders. And that it also shows if there is any error with them.

Is the left/right sender model specific? I hqve usd the IPK which shows no errors for any sender (shows something like 1.7.1). using the how to guide, The IPK reads that i have 55.9 litres from the right sender. Nothing frm the left. I cannot remember the exact figures that are shown but will post these if neded.

All models have the same basic pair of level sensors. However, the diagnostic routine Test 6 is I believe, incorrect. I was unable to get any sense from my investigations and I came to the conclusion it doesn't work on 75/ZTs. The diagnostic routine is originally a BMW document and some parts may not apply.

The best way to test the level sensors is to check the rheostat ranges using an ohm meter. This is best done with the float modules on the bench so you can move them over their full swing.
