Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but in 15 years of washing a fleet of 60 statics I have yet to find anything that works 100% on this problem as it's usualy caused by reactions with the aluminium skin and often happens where water runs over mastic in gutters & around windows etc etc
Oh and if it helps one of the best products I have found for general washing of vans is Stardrops it's 99p a bottle from any Wilkinsons store
Cheers Ian

I have this sort of question asked of me at work quite a few times from the valeters. I tell them I can't remember what the part number is but ask the storeman for some Elbow grease, that fetch it off. :D You'll be surprised how many go and ask.
Seriously tho, try some car paint polish or if you can't get any try "T cut"

Grease lighting will remove them with ease and give the caravan a beautiful shine at the same time

I've seen elbow grease referred to a number of times. Can I get it from a hardwork shop?

I got some Caravan Shampoo (that its brand name on the bottle) from Aldi about a year go I found that if you dab it on a sponge neat and apply (after washing) it works a treat on those black streaks & it wasn’t that dear if I remember correctly.

Just a case of whether or not it’s still in stock when comes to Aldi, I defiantly get some more if I see it again.

Imagine spending £10k on a 'van and having to endure these horrible black streaks!! I'd be mortified!

Prevention better than cure? A good wax polish perhaps?

Just brought a spray bottle of carplan black streak remover from the 99p store today. WOW, it actually works!

Spray it on, leave for a few seconds then wipe off with a damp cloth, job done.

Yep ive used that and its been good. I currently use Fenwicks caravan cleaner as this gets the muckiest of caravan's clean. Also if you use 1/4 of a cap full in a bucket of water on the car it comes up very well. :)

I normally use Silky cream for the black water marks / stains. Marks come of with no effort, and over the years I have used it, it doesn't appear to remove any paint or cause any damage, as it isn't abrasive.

I use Autoglym Caravan Cleaner once a year, it certainly removes the black streaks. Fairly new to the market, I bought two bottles at half price when first on the market, I think it was about £4 a bottle. Spray on & leave for a few minutes, then brush over with my long handled car wash brush & hose off

Our local poundstretcher sells a spray of 'insect & tar remover' just spray over whilst washing, a quick sponge, job done. Also brilliant for its advertised task dissolves stuck on insects in seconds:}
