+£10-£12 for fitting.

Just over £60 a wheel, for some decent rubber (although there isn't exactly a stellar choice available in that size!)

EDIT - Ignore me i'm an idiot (wrong size)

If that price is fitted and balanced I don't think you'll get much better. I expect that you've read the tyre posts then you'll know they are BUDGET tyres for good reason:
budget tyres = budget performance, safety etc.

did you have 4 new tyres on the car when you bought it? If not then you had part worns already. Part worns have to be tested and inspected before being sold. You rent a hire car and you wont know the history of those tyres either.
Each to their own but ive been running 2 cars on part worns for 10years and never had a bad one. All the taxi drivers use em as well.

Just keep away from puncture repaired part-worns & you should be OK, but as other members have said very good tyres available in your size for very little money from Camskill.

That's a 165 in that link not a 195, loads of good rubber available in this size.

The difference is, where do part worns come from?

Who removes a tyre with 5mm remaining?

Thats what worries me...

I'd have no problem using a set of alloy wheels with second hand tyres on

Falken ZE912 -

Just put a set of these on my ZT after recommendation from my trusted tyre supplier.

Have been on 3 weeks now and appear to be every bit as good as the Dunlop SP 9000's that i have had on before. At £107 per corner fitted rather than the £175 that was being asked for Dunlop, i am well happy.

Maybe worth going and having a chat with your local tyre distributor, especially the independent ones, as they will be more than willing to have your business.

For 16" wheels I'd just get new Avons or Falkens from Camskill, they are so much better in every way than cheap Chinese efforts and cost very little extra.

You should see how many extra counterbalance weights Chinese tyres tend to require too!

I've no problem fitting part worn 18" tyres though - providing the tyre is a good brand with 6-7mm of tread and an independent fitter checks them over you can save £100 a corner at current prices if you buy carefully.

I've only ever found fault with one tyre and after emailing a photo to the supplier he gave a full refund immediately and asked if I could simply puncture and mark the sidewall and recycle the tyre.

Many tend to be from breakers or spares, sadly plenty of decent cars (including ZTs & RX8s with the same tyre size) are simply worth more broken for parts. If you're in the trade and have a tyre fitting machine and an apprentice looking for something to do you may as well split the wheels and tyres as they will tend to sell for more when split.

Very happy with my Barum Bravuris 2 tyres recently fitted for £88 each at national tyres. A lot cheaper if you order via the AA online than going direct to National, though.

I don't know what your local dealer is like for fitting customer supplied tyres, mine charges a tenner a wheel, including balancing and disposal of the old ones. If yours is the same then have a look here:

http://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyres/car-tyres-195-65-r15

From £35 per tyre deliverred. Even known names like Firestone for £43 and Hankook and BF Goodrich for £42.

I have used this company and have had no problems.

Worth a thought?

That's cheap. Admittedly, mine are size 215/55/r16 and included fitting. I haven't tried fitting them myself as I'd run out of spoons....

The last 2 part worns I bought in a 15" size were almost new Pirelli p6000s, £32 fitted for the pair.

I must admit they're usually budget brands on offer.

Part worns are fine as long as you examine them first IMHO.
