i was thinking if the club wishes i am prepaired to do a long term test on my 1.8T Classic, i think i am in a good position to do this because my car was new i am the only owner and i always use top grade fuel and oil, keep a good service history, tow a small caravan,my driving style is laid back (to old for boy racer) will be 100% honest will not knock rover or complain about anything or any body, just tell it as it is.

i dont want to waste my time though if no one is interested, the club would have to approve and i would need help in just how to set it up.

just an idea

I think it's a good idea, I would be interested in the results, John.

I asked Ken about something similar a while ago. I thought it would be a good idea if we had a section where all the different specs of each car were reviewed that way people looking to buy would be able to see peoples comments.

Indeed you did Phil, we are doing a buyers guide at the moment but it will be a while yet until its ready. As for Mel75s suggestion and volunteering to help its not really my area to be honest. One of the others would be better suited to following that up. Perhaps it could be incorporated into the buyers guide.
Mels idea does sound like a good one though and something we will be looking into

Cheers

I'd be happy to do the same for my facelift 1.8 Conn SE. Like Mel, I've had mine from new (well it was pre-reg with just 25 miles) so I can give a meaningful review of my ownership experience, including the use of a very big name MG specialist for servicing.
