View Full Version : Getting that front bumber off!

I don't know if this has been answered elsewhere.

I've had to remove the bumper several times now. Twice for the fan motor, 1st time I discovered a screw had a dead thread and had to come back another time to drill it out.
The 3rd time was to replace a bulb!
The silly clip fell out and without seeing inside I couldn't re-attach it.

The one part I hate doing when removing the bumper is pulling it out from the sides once all the screws are off. I managed to split a bit of unseen plastic like clip.
Is there a secret knack to this task? Just brut strength?

I try and progressively release the three 'turret' shaped clips from behind the bumper side to release the 'whole' white bumper retaining clip itself from the wing, rather than prise the bumper off the clip. Its a bit of a pain getting your paws on the turret bits, and keeping a gentle pull on the side of the bumper helps to prevent the clips re-engaging. Hope this makes sense!

Yeah, I think it makes sense, I bear it in mind next time. It's quite an annoying task. I dred it each time.
