Idea for North West Meet - September 15th

I would like thoughts on whether or not this idea would be a viable meet for North West members and any others that may fancy making he trip.

The place: Atherton, Manchester M46 9RB

Proposed date: Saturday 15th September at 12 noon

The meet:

If I can get 12 members or more to attend, my local garage (website link HERE (http://www.athertoncarsafety.com/Welcome.html)) has offered to host a meet and demonstrate the TERRACLEAN equipment and use one of the members cars to do so. This would take the form of a simple raffle and the lucky member would have his car TERRACLEANED for free and any other member who had it done on the day or booked an appointment would be offered a discount on the usual rate. Both diesel and petrol machines are available.

There will also be ramps available for members to inspect the underside of their own cars and perhaps clear their plenum drains from underneath. Free inspections and advice will also be available. Bacon butties also provided for members turning up on time.

There is room for about 20-25 cars, so attendance will be limited. Plenty of room indoors if it rains.

If you think this is a good idea then perhaps post up on here if you are interested.

Please be aware that regional meets are not official 75 & ZT Owners Clubs meets and as such are not covered by the clubs public liability insurance. Also the Owners Club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

This would be a great opportunity to get the bottom of your plenum tubes cut off to stop the need for regular plenum checks. As long as you have Jules' plenum shield of course.

I had new rear discs, pads and shoes last year but hi q didn't do a good job at adjusting it and just shoved a spacer under the adjuster nut at the handbrake lever. I also fitted a new compensator from Arctic but I'm not sure how to adjust it at the wheels.

No Eric, there isn't mate. I wouldn't trust any of the mobiles, their work doesn't last. The only way is to get a full refurb which means removing the tyres etc. I use a place in Chorley but Sid (Godfer), who is coming on Saturday uses a place in Widnes which might be handier for you. Do you need a full set doing or just one touching up as I guess if it's just a touch up you might have to use a mobile?

The cost will be £200 for full refurb incl removal & replacement of tyres and balancing. if you want a painted Sparkle Silver finish it's an additional £40.

I had the latter, which means they get the full powder coated treatment and then the front face finish is keyed and they are booth sprayed in Sparkle Silver, which looks much brighter & shinier than just a powder coated finish.

PS I can show you one on Saturday.

Well what a great meet that was. I didn't think I'd see an interior swap being done at a meet though! I had my exhaust adjusted, handbrake adjusted and a Terraclean. I'll post my findings soon but so far so good. :)

Very nice to have met many of the NW members. Special thanks to Rich for fitting my handbrake compensator. Could not make the Hollow Tree today but look forward to being at the next gathering in October I assume.
