Hi I've seen a 2002 ROVER 75 2.0 CDT Diesel Connoisseur (basic spec) at £3,695.00 with a milage of 75k offered by a dealer.
appears to be in honest condition for it's age.
I'm not strong on Rover 75 prices, but as a rule of thumb, is this an approx honest price.
Your opinions please gentlemen.:}

I would say thats a bit rich for an 02 car :shrug:, But it is a dealer....

I would think you could find a nice example for less than that... Check the Members Cars For Sale area here... There are usually a few in there ;)

Too expensive for year and spec. You could get a 54 plate for that money with all bells & whistles.

Wouldn't worry if newer cars had near or just over the 100k mark, the diesels are only just broken in.

Thanks for those opinions fella's, looks like he maybe keeping it for longer than he expected. ;)
I'll take a look out of curiosity, and see how much £££'s I can knock off the screen price.
What would a more realistic price be, without insulting the guy.

A quick search on e-bay or autotrader would give you a ball-park figure :}

About £2500 to much in my opinion. This is what the same money will buy you straight away.....

Or prehaps like this?

Single owners diesel tourer connie se for £2000 before price negotiation.

IMO millage on the engine is also irrelevant in the diesels, its the running gear and such along with proof of maintenance is the key for them.

Well assuming it's a saloon and on an "02" plate, (you don't say) the car currently has a Dealer Retail of £2,250 at that mileage, so nearly £1,500 over that figure, is somewhat "optimistic"! ;)

However, some Dealers do price their vehicles high to either;

A) Give a large "over-allowance" if they are offered a part exchange vehicle

or

B) Give a big discount for no part exchange.

So I wouldn't discount the car without knowing "the deal" that was on offer with it! ;)

Thanks Fella's for your knowledge, it has been invaluable to me. I'll be now armed with the right stuff when I pay the dealer a visit.
P.S. I'll post the outcome later. ;)

Always worth doing an ebay check for completed listings, shows you how much they make in auction, thy this link:smilie_re:http://www.ebay.co.uk/csc/Cars-/9801/i.html?LH_Auction=1&_nkw=rover+75+cdt&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc
