View Full Version : Hollow Tree Meet Sunday 21st October

rich17865
16th September 2012, 16:43
This months Sunday meet is going to be at the Hollow Tree in Stretton on 21st October at 1pm.

The Hollow Tree is a great family pub with excellent food. On the Sunday there is a carvery, which is 2 courses for £15.49 and it is 2 for 1 so is a real bargain. Plus there is a kids play area for a small charge.

We are kindly given the use of the car park by the landlord to host our meets, which gives us great opportunity to tinker and play with our cars. It is an ideal opportunity for new members to get their latest purchase the once over by the experienced members. Also to meet and chat to others that have an interest in the marque.

I will be there obviously and all are welcome.

Please be aware that regional meets are not official 75 & ZT Owners Clubs meets and as such are not covered by the clubs public liability insurance.
Also the Owners Club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

Hi it's just off junction 10 on the M56, head up the A49 for Whitchurch then first right.

NB: get into the outside lane as soon as you're off the roundabout as the right turn is only in a few 100 yards.

Hope to see you on 21st. If not, as I said, we'll have to arrange to meet somewhere warm and closer to your natural winter habitat.:D
So far Mrs Incensed is saying she'll come and I think I might be able to bring a fellow with a Firefrost ZT-T!

As I rarely go to bed before 4 am, at 12 00 I am usually still fast asleep! :D. So it will be nearer 2 PM before I get there..

And before you ask.. If I got up at say 8am, (and I used too) I would have nothing to do? Telly's awfull, all my mates are at work, and it will be many hours before they want to come out to play. :o

So I stay up late usually watching late night movies, or chat to people online, (the USA comes alive at about midnight) and go to bed after 4 am.... Then when I do get up, half the day is gone, and by the time I have taken the dog to the park, had a walk, thrown a few bricks at the ducks (:D) had a coffee, got back home and had something to eat, all my friends are arriving home, brill innit.. :)

If you drive into the car park and cannot see us, there is another car park on the left as you drive down the main car park. We normally loiter in there.

I have fitted a ppd bonnet release, but it sticks against the fins of the grille. I wanted to see the guide on the back of it to be honest, any chance of a picture before it is gone?

I was going to fabricate something to do it, but might just go the scrappy and find a ppd car and buy the grille.

Sorry about this Kevin, I feel bad that you came all that way and couldn't find us.

You will have to come and meet the regulars on the evening of Wednesday 7th at 20:00 then you will recognise us and not miss out again.

Well that was a nice ride out to the country, John Deere's to the right,Massey Ferguson's to the left, and a couple of tractors in the field gathering the harvest :D Steve & I didn't have our ear defenders with us to drown out the noise :D:D:D:D Anyway, thanks fellas, nice venue,& interesting enough, the route up the M6 back home,is only 6 miles longer  but a lot less hassle. So i can safely say,any future journey's down there will be via that way.:}Another thing, had the d/din sat nav on,on the way home,& as i was driving through the lakes part of the M6, the graphic on the screen showed the exact mountains on the screen as were in front of me:cool:It was like a forward facing camera, couldn't believe it :drool4:

Had a great day out today at the North West 75 diesel convention:D
Quite funny really, the only two petrol cars that attended belonged to members from the Yorkshire & North East regions :}.

Look forward to attending another one soon.

Steve.

Nice to see you and Ross again Steve :D and great having Ronnie attend :D - cheers guys.

A couple of panorama's, photo's and possibly a video later

Clowns to the left and jokers to the right in their (soon to overheat) petrol's! ;)

Agreed, there does seem to be a concerted 'Tractor' following at the North West meets! Jim's intention to bring his lovely 1.8T next time should offer a greater balance.

Good fun as ever guys. Nice one!

We.'ve all got diesels 'cos we travel so far from Manchester (and it's satellite towns) to meets.:D

And as for balance - lets have more colour balance (and more Tourers), please. (Or "Shooting Brakes" as the Cheshire Set like to call them:D)

A really nice day out for my first meeting.
A stunning venue, great food, and lots of advice off the "old hands" about my car .....or should that be tractor:D
Don't forget guys when all the petrol is gone we'll be growing oil seed rape in our gardens to drive our tractors.
Thanks guys for a great day.

I was late again, and bearing in mind I set off last week that was quite an achievement innit.. lol :D

Glad you had a nice run home Ronnie, shame you wouldn't sell me the chrome grill though, seems bribery has its limits innit.. lol :}

I did keep a very close eye on a rather nice front grill on one of the cars, but sadly the owner kept a close eye on me! :o

Once again some great photographs from Jimbo. thank you Jim.

Lots of luverly diesels about, and even some huge ones harvesting in the field next door. Steve's lad also noticed three very large raptors circling above the fields close by, doubtless waiting for the small mammals to be driven from cover by the tractors innit... :o

Petrol cars seem to be declining in numbers, though that's no surprise to anyone innit.. lmho.. :p: :D:D

The weather was really nice, lil dog behaved himself, though being closely guarded by Jean he didn't have much choice. :D traffic was surprisingly heavy both ways though..

One more meet, rolling road on the 17th November and then it's hibernation time again.. :o Temperance fugit innit... :D

Thanks Jim, fbh edutainment at it's best, and thanks for the sly shot of my dab radio playing a cd and of my ruined message centre. It is being replaced a week on Saturday by the way.

Another fantastic meet, it was good to see members from all over attending, it must be worth it :D

It was also good to see some new faces and hope to see them again at future meets, thanks guys.

Like the description of FBH "edutainment", sums it up all rather well

Thought you wouldn't mind a shot of the new headunit :o went very nicely with the one of the roof mounted antenna .

Yes, you'd mentioned that the the message centre was going to be sorted soon ;).

As said, nice pictures Jim.

David Williams (owner of "the Firefrost MG ZT-T that lives down the road") was interested in coming along, but he's a speedway fan and went to see the Aces instead.:( I've let him know the November dates and hope to drag him along. He's even less mechanically-minded than me, but I'm sure he's got some interesting tales. He's certainly got some interesting cars. He ordered the ZT-T as a Mk 1 but they introduced the Facelift after he'd placed the order, so it must be one of the first.
If we could have made it, that would have been 3 Tourers - all red:D
