Just a quick bump, and to let you know that we have already got the tickets for this event, as we will be using the tickets, which I purchased last year, and of course the event was cancelled, but we can use the tickets this year.

So if you would like to attend can you please add your names to the list. We have got 19 so far on the list

Hopefully we will use the full allocation of the tickets (50). The cost of entry is likely to be around £5, which covers the car and all occupants, and of course the trophies as well

Stu

Trophies to be awarded:

Just for information on the exact location of Harewood.

The village of Harewood is centrally placed in Yorkshire at the junction of the A61/A659 on the Leeds/Harrogate road. We are situated

7 miles from Leeds and Harrogate on the A61
5 miles from Wetherby and the A1
22 miles from York
9 miles from Leeds/Bradford airport
8 miles from the M1
You may wish to use a route planner - our postcode is LS17 9LG, although Sat Nav users are recommended to try LS17 9LQ as this will bring you straight to the main Archway entrance to Harewood off the A61.

Excellent, will be great to see all the members who have previosuly attended, and hopefully some new members as well. Hope to get a good turnout.

Also, it might be worth doing a trip around the arena, (like last time) so that you can put your hand out of the window and wave, to make you feel like royality

I think that we had around 8/9 cars in the Arena, (To collect the Prize for 3rd Bezxt Club Stand) as I gave out 6 bottles of the beer and also the certificate to another member, would be nice if we could get 50 in the arena, now that would be good

For others who have never been, as simon has mentioned, it is not the typical stand around and talk, this show is held at Harewood House, and there is something for the whole family to do, they have an arena, and during the day, various events happen in the arena, and lots of stalls as well, food and drinks stalls, as well as many others selling items, you can also visit the house and gardens and the bird sanctury, with 1000's of birds from around the world, and walk round the lake as well.

Also at this show, a lot of Motor Traders bring there new cars to show to the public, think there were about 15 different marques on show last time, its a bit like the old NEC Motor show.

This is a video of the 2010 Show

I plan on having a cut off date of Friday 31 May, so if your name is not on the list by that date, then I'm afraid that we will not be able to attend this excellent show, as by that date,we may need to apply for more tickets

Just as a reminder

Trophies to be awarded as follows:

Best in show

http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r504/Stuart_McNulty/CIMG1148.jpg?t=1357488816

1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category (therefore 3 x 75 trophies and 3 x MG Trophies).

http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r504/Stuart_McNulty/CIMG1149.jpg?t=1357488816

Each member who attends will be given a voting sheet, so that they can vote for the car they think is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best, in each class( You cannot vote for your own car), and the best in show will be awarded to whichever car gets the most overall votes, and then the fourth in that Category will be awarded the third place trophy, and those in third and second will be moved up to 2nd and 1st respectively

It would be really good if we could also have the biggest turnout of any car club as well, I think that the Mercs club had around 50 plus last time the event was held, so would be nice to surpass that

Hope this is clear for everybody

Was'nt sure what you would be bringing, as you seem to have three on your profile, that's why I put 75 or ZT, but have now amended it to read ZT

If you have never been to this show, you will be surprised, as it is a great day out for the family as well, up to 1000 other cars will be in attendance, both old and new, (including a lot of new dealers), who will be bringing their new versions of products for sale, hopefully, I will get to sit in the new Jaguar F Type

Also Mofo (Chris) wrote an excellent article on the show which can be seen at:

Hi thanks for the info, I never realised it was such a big day.Thought it was just the club members meeting up for a chat and look at each others cars..might try and book the day off or at least go into work late so I can relax more and enjoy the day,,cheers

Just had an entry form sent to me for Harewood, and have emailed them back (Twice), and am waiting for a reply, but they have increased the cost this year for the Fathers Day Rally, the costs are now:

First 10 Cars @ £6 per vehicle (increase of £1)

then every car after the first 10 will be £2 (increase of £0.75p)

So I have emailed them asking if we have to return the tickets from last Year, and pay the difference, and if the tickets we purchased last year are still valid, or do we send them back, and then get a credit, and have to purchase new tickets.

As soon as I get an answer back from them will let everyone know, but we will most probably have to pay around an extra £0.80p each, dependant on numbers

Update on costs to enter Harewood

Last years cost as follows:

Trophies - £106.97
Entry Fee - £ 97.50
Postage - £ 6.60 (11 x 1st class Stamps @0.60p)

so costs will be:

Trophies - £106.97
Entry Fee - £97.50
Postage - £ 6.60 (11 x 1st class Stamps @0.60p)

Total bill will therefore be: £211.07 hopefully divided by 44 members attending
= £4.97per car, currently with 36 attending the cost is £5.86

However, if we get more than the original 44 tickets, which we purchased last year, then we will need to pay the new prices for the additional tickets.

This is the information from Harewood on increased ticket prices

"2012 Exhibitors: If you entered and paid to exhibit in the 2012 cancelled event you will not be required to send money for the number of vehicles entered in that year. Any number of vehicles over and above will need to be paid for at 2013 rates

Hope that helps to keep everybody up to date, and if we do purchase any additional tickets, then we will add this to the total cost and divide it by those attending, if everybody is in agreement.

I will be re-apply for tickets for 2013 event around about the 27th May 2013, so if you would like to attend and have not already put your name down, please do so before then, otherwise you will be disappointed on missing out on this event

I have been thinking about an idea for the last couple of days, and have PM'd a couple of members after recent events during the last year.

The Plan is to make a slight change to the day, in that the Trophies which we have purchased and which will be awarded,

Best in Show will be re-named (The Rotrex) Trophy and this will be presented to the car judged overall the best, either Rover 75 or MG ZT

The Trophy for the Best Rover 75 will be re-named (The Eve White) Trophy ands will be presentated by Actros, unless of course he wins the trophy

and lastly the trophy for the MG ZT will be renamed the (Scouseeric) Trophy.

The remaining trophies will remain as normal, in that trophies will be awarded for the 2nd and 3rd Best Rover 75, and also 2nd and 3rd Best 75.

We still have one More trophy, and during the next couple of months, we will need to make a decision on what that is to be presented for/too

The Rotrex Trophy

http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r504/Stuart_McNulty/bth_CIMG1148.jpg

and the Eve White and Scouseeric Trophies

Hope that everybody is in agreement

Just a quick bump, as we still have got 4 tickets for the event.

Please note that the cut off date for this event will be Monday 27 May 2013, so if you have not applied via this forum to attend, then I am afraid that you will not be able to attend and be part of the club stand which we have arranged at this Show

The venue is very central to a lot of the areas, and is easy to get to via the very good road links.

If you have never attended this show, you have been missing an excellent day out, there is so much to see and do, and also you will be with a great group of Rover 75 and MG ZT owners.

Meeting and Arrangements

For those coming from the North East, meet at Bowburn Services at no later than 0730 hrs, then drive in convoy down to the final meeting place at Wetherby Services arrive around 0845 hrs.

Meet remaining members, Pay for tickets and information packs at Wetherby Services. Every member will have an envelope marked up with their names on, and it will contain:

Entry Ticket
Windscreen Pass (from Harewood)
Information leaflet from Harewood
Our Programme
Voting Card

Depart from Wetherby Servies at around 0915-0930 hrs, then go in convoy to Harewood House about 7 miles down the road. (Please be careful once we get onto the A 659, and make sure you, keep a suitable distance from the car in front, I mentioned this every year, so please take note) (Blower will be along this road in a Layby), and will join us on route

Arrive at Harewood at approx 0945 hrs, and park up in allocated space.

Voting to commence from 1100 hrs until 1430 hrs.

It is estimated that we will award prizes at no later than 1530 hrs.

Looking forward to meeting you all, and hope that you will enjoy the show

Now I understand the post Fred, added to the list, so that now means that we have got the 44 places filled, which we purchased last year,

So if we have any more who would like to attend, I will need to send away for more tickets, but please note that there is a closing date, of Monday 27 May 2013

Costs for additional tickets will be an additional £2, and then the total bill for all will be added up, and divided by the total numbers attending, so if we got 50 members attend the cost would be - £211.07 + £12 + £1.20 postage = £224.27 / 50 = £4.49 per car

Just a quick bump, to see if any more members are planning on attending, so far we have 45 members attending the show, which is estimated to attract over 1000 vehicles of varying marques. It would be great if we could have the biggest turnout of any club

Afraid so Fred, but must admit that it is looking better every time you post up new photo's.

You will have some competition though from a few others, and it depends on who votes for your car. I won't be posting up a copy of the voting slip before the show, so you can't print off ten thousand, and vote for yourself, it will be up to other members, and hopefully members of the Public to vote on whose car they think is the best

Great Idea, maybe you can present it to the (winner, or should that be loser), but will have to wait until the day to present the award, but have now got an idea for the remaining trophy, and hopefully it will go down very well with all members.

I think that you have summed it up to a Tee, and as I have mentioned, it is not about having a concours car, its about meeting fellow enthusasts, and looking around at all the other marques present, the trophies are just a small part of the day

My preference was the XKRS and the XKR Convertible, only wish I could afford one, and also would like a new XJ, to finish off the fleet, well we can all dream sometimes.

Very much looking forward to the day, and have been doing a bit of work behind the scene's ready for the big day, just hope that it turns out to be as good as all the previous one's we have done, and just waiting for Harewood to post up what events will take place in the arena, like you mentioned, could be monster trucks or maybe even the motorcycle guys who jump the bikes over the Artic Truck

Travel and Meet Arrangements

For those that are attending, travel and meet arrangements are as follows:

For those coming from the North East, meet at Bowburn Services just off the A1 at Junction 60, at no later than 0730 hrs, then drive in convoy down to the final meeting place at Wetherby Services, before convoy to Harewood.

Pay for tickets and information packs at Wetherby Services (Depends on final numbers, but estimated to be around the £5, I will have a small bag of change so that I can give you the difference back from the final cost of the £5)(remember the cost is for the car and all occupants, so if you bring the family as well the cost will still be aroundanout £5)

Every member will have an envelope marked up with their names on, and it will contain:

Entry Ticket

Windscreen Pass

Information leaflet from Harewood

Voting Card Number (to be displayed in Windscreen once parked up) (see attached)

Program with who is attending from our Marques of car.

I have just spoken to Harewood, after sending two emails, and not receiving a reply, so decided to give them a call.

The Tickets we had last year will need to be renewed, so that means when I send offf the application form for the additional two tickets, which I am going to have to bring forward by a week,

(Closing Date for entry will be Sunday 19 May 2013) then they will send us out some new packs, containing

New entry tickets
New area pass (last year it was bay 29)
Information sheet

I do not need to send the old 44 tickets back, but new tickets will be issued, in a bulk pack, and the cost for additional vehicles will be £2 per ticket

So that means that the costs will go up very slightly, but will not cost more than £5 per vehicle.

I need to pay for postage to and from Harewood, and the additional tickets

Hope that helps

Stuart

For those that we due to go direct to Harewood and Help set up, can you please send me your postal address by PM, so that I can send out the new tickets to you in Advance

Fusilier

Just to update from previous thread, costs for Harewood

Paid for Last year

Trophies - £106.97
Entry Fee - £ 97.50
Postage - £ 6.60 (11 x 1st class Stamps @0.60p)

2013 Additional Costs

Entry Fee - £4
Postage - £6.00 (10 x First class stamps @0.60

Therefore Total Cost will be:

£221.07 / 46 members attending = £4.80 per member, sorry but prices have gone up by around 12p per member since last posts mentioning finance, but less than £5 per car (which is up to 5 members), great value for money

Glad you are joining us, think you will really enjoy the day, if you have never been to Harewood Show, you will be in for a great day, and also get to meet a great bunch of enthusiasts, but you can also get to sample quite a few new cars which the dealers will have on display, you can get to sit in a brand new Jag XJ, and sample the qualities or even one of the newer fords, Mazda's etc

There will also be some form of displays in the arena during the course of the day, we have had Monster trucks, motorcycle display teams, funny cars, over the last couple of years, not sure what it is this year, but they will soon be posting up what event will take place in the arena, and lots of other things to do, visit the house, walk round the Gardens, see other marques on display, visit and buy items from the many stalls which turn up to sell their products

It is great value for money, and a good day out

The show is a really good event, and We will, I suspect have the largest turnout of any other marque. You don't know we might even win best club stand, so can I also ask that those with club banners bring them along, Dave will also be bringing his Gazebo.

Also If you have put your name down to attend, and then cannot make it, please let me know before we apply for tickets, as once we have applied, then I'm afraid that you will still need to pay for the event.

Many thanks for letting me know, have updated the list, glad you are joining us

Now have 51 members attending, and the cost has been slightly reduced to £4.53 per car, so if we do get one more member then the cost will reduce down to around £4.50 each, which would make life so much easier for everybody including me

Just a quick update, I have posted the provisional program, so can you please check that I have not missed you off the list.

Also just noticed on you tube that our Fred posted up a video of the event from 2010

very much looking forward to this event, and with quite a few members attending think that it will be one of the biggest attendance at the show for us as a club

Can I ask any members who have large club banners, Rover 75 or MG Flags/Banners to bring them to Harewood, as it would be nice if we as a club also won the best club stand at this event, we won 3rd best last time out, so would be nice if we got best club stand at the event, plus if anybody else can think of anything that would enable us to win the best club stand,

Many thanks in advance

Dave is bring a Gazebo as far as I am aware, but not sure of the size, so maybe have a word with Dave (Stocktake), as for Space Hoppers you just want to beat your son in a race, so maybe you could bring them and have a race round the whole parade ground (would like to see you at the end of that) !!!

Dave. those Banners/Flags seem a fantastic idea, would be nice if we did win best club Stand as well, that would be a feather in our caps

Very much looking forward to this meet, as I think that it will be the best one yet, and we seem to have a great bunch of members attending as well, as a great mixture of cars from our marque

At Harewood the following trophies will be given out, to those cars deemed to be judged the best by our club members who are attending and if any of the public would like to vote, then I will hand them out a voting forms, so each member will get in their packs on the day a voting form, and those that I am sending the tickets, will get one on the day as well

So when you get your form, please can you fill it out, and post it in the box provided, with which car you deem in your opinion to be best, second best and third best, the vehicle which has the most votes overall will be deemed to be best in show, and then the other car in each class will be awarded, a first, second and third prize for each class (Rover 75) and (MG ZT)

These are the trophies which will be awarded:

Best in Show (nice piece of cut glass and stands about 6" High

http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r504/Stuart_McNulty/CIMG1148.jpg?t=1357488816

and then First, second and third for each class

http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r504/Stuart_McNulty/CIMG1149.jpg?t=1357488816

There will also be one other trophy awarded, and we will nominate the winner at the prize giving at around 1530 hrs

Stu

This show is not all about winning a trophy, this is just another thing to try and make it as enjoyable as possible for everybody who is attending, I will most probably ask for a couple of volunteers to award the prizes, as well, Brian (actros) will be awarding the Eve White Trophy for the Best 75, unless of course he wins it, then I would ask somebody else to award the prize

I am very much looking forward to this show, it has been a long time in the planning, and really hope that it turns out to be what everybody is expecting and more

Well thats two of you, that were at the last show, (that were captured in a photo) we did at Harewood, you can tell it is the last one, because the location and way we parked were much better last time, as we did get a lot more space compared to the first year.

I think that this is one of the cheapest and best show to attend. Quite a few of us will be leaving early in the morning to get to this show, but worth it

Harewood have now published what will be happening in the arena on the day

Harewood is gearing up to Father’s Day Classic Motor Show with hundreds of vintage and classic cars to admire. On the day there’ll be a full arena programme showcasing all the vehicles and prizes will be given out at the end of the day for best in class.

This year’s arena act is the sensational Breitling Wingwalkers; see these 1940s Stearman biplanes roar through the sky at

http://www.harewood.org/_imagebank/Breitling_Wingwalkers_1__Credit_Katsuhito_Tokunaga .jpg

Speeds of up to 150mph! Watch the Wingwalkers perform a dazzling aerobatic routine as the planes do loops, rolls and stalls all whilst they experience G forces of up to 4G!
Lytham St Annes Spitfire Display Team will be here with a replica Spitfire. Talk to the re-enactors and get an insight into the plane and a day in the life of a WW2 fighter pilot. You’ll get an opportunity to sit in the Spitfire and have photos taken for a small fee, which will be donated to the Lytham St Annes Fighter, Bomber and Coastal Command Memorial.
Trade stands, not just for the car enthusiast, a fun fair, vintage stalls, food, drinks and ice cream will keep the whole family entertained throughout the day.

Just a quick bump, it is about 10 days or so before I send off to Harewood for the tickets, so if anybody else would like to definitely attend, please let me know soonest, as once I send off for the tickets, will not be able to accept any more entries.

This is a very good car show, with around 1000 plus cars attending, and well worth attending, it has lots to do and this year they have got a wing walker aerobatic display.

Regards

Stu

PS

Also if you have put your name down, and cancel after I have applied for tickets, or don't turn up, then you will still need to pay, as I am paying in advance for the entry

Final Reminder for all the above event, will be printing off form tomorrow, and sending off in the post very soon (this weekend), so as soon as I have posted off for the tickets, that will be the final list, and we will not be able to accept any more enteries for the event.

So this is the final chance if you wish to participate in the event, we have 52 members of the forum attending, and think that it will be a great day for all who are participating

Many thanks

Stuart

Excellent, that way you can be awake during the show, and not have to go and find an area to have a quick kip

Just so that everybody is aware of the costs which I have paid for so far

Trophies - £106.97
Entry Fee 2012 - £ 97.50
Postage 2012 - £ 6.60

Entry Fees 2013 - £ 20.00 (as at today 10 x extra tickets for 2013)
Postage 2013 -£ 6.00

Total cost so far as at today will be: £237.07

and we have 54 members attending so the cost will be £237.07 / 54 = £4.39 per member (for car and all passengers)

I think that this is very good value for money, and very much hope that those attending the show, will have an enjoyable day

I will publish the final program over the weekend, and also a copy in Colour will be included in the envelope that everybody will receive, will all the tickets and information about the show, including the voting form

Yes I am being as transparent as I can be, but It might be worth doing that, as it wold make it easier, and it would be £1.04, which would as you say not even buy me a coffee, but would make it easier, so I will bring a few 50p coins with me as well to try and make it easier
