Did the headlights flash? If yes sure sign of a flat battery.

Or it maybe a sticky starter solenoid repair kits are pretty cheap on eBay.

I had this, it turned out to be a loose battery terminal.

See what happens after you have charged the battery Chris

sounds like a battery issue! I am sure there is a thread on changing it should it not want to hold charge any more.

Hi Chris, the battery looks like the original which are very good as a
rule I would wait and see what happens after you have charged the battery

If you do have to replace it try Euro car parts where you will get a good discount with the clubs discount code

I too had a similar issue with my 2.0 V6. It was the battery. All I would get was click click click. I paid a local cabbie for his time in giving me some juice from his car - started straight away.

But in my case the problem wasn't really the battery, it was that the alternator was no longer giving enough charging power. Bought a used one on fleabay and changed my battery.

Has worked like a charm since.

It started straight away after a charge :D

Decided to order a new battery for the winter

Going for Exide with 4 year guarantee from Tanya batteries which seem OK company (http://www.tayna.co.uk/067TE-Exide-Car-Battery-X-Tra-Plus-XTra-Plus-XP07-P7499.html)

Cheaper than Kwikfit and spec seems a bit better too

Good news; have exide batteries on the minis and they are good

Glad it was a simple one!
