I read in Practical Classics a couple of months ago an article explaining that you can use a length of threaded bar and a couple of appropriate track rod ends/ball joints to replace original ones when they are worn out. I have used genuine Rover and aftermarket parts in the past and even the genuine parts don't seem to last much more than 8-9 months even though I slow right down to go over those horrible concrete square lumps we have on some of the roads i have to use locally. I can get threaded bar from work but wondered if anyone could recommend which ball joints I can use on my 2003 75 CDT Saloon. The Practical Classics article suggested that making your own in this way can outlast those available to buy. Any suggestions/comments?
