I saw this Rover 75 for sale at a garage near Leeds yesterday, it caught
my eye because of the chrome door handle finishers. As you can see it is
for sale for £2895 it's a classic se in BRG. Anyway I thought I would ask
the salesman if he would just sell me the door finishers, explaining that
I would not do any damage to the car and no one would be any wiser.
He said he would have to check with his boss. You can guess the reply
especially from a Yorkshireman..Yes I could have the door finishers price
£2895 with a free Rover 75..Oh well I will have to wait for the club to come
through with a set..http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l45/newfeather/PC020330.jpg

Yes Ken defo. BRG. Taken at 08.30 on a damp Saturday morning.
Its a W reg. 1.8 Classic se with Serpent Wheels and chrome door handle
finishers. Passed the garage later in the day in bright sunshine, the
car looked pretty good.

Time to check my monitor I think it looks dark blue to me at this end

Computers never were my strong point :D

I reckon another few months and I will be getting one of those as a replacement for my 114 to run around in and taking dog for walks etc.

If your anything like me Ken, you'll get an old 75 to run around in to save getting the other one all mucky, and it'll end up being treated exactly the same as the other and will end up pristine and no dog will be allowed anywhere near it!!

Here is another picture of the same car taken at the same time.
Camera a 6.1 megapixel Olympus but taken at low res,and yes it does look
a bit blue. The car is defo. BRG. So I guess I will have to improve my camera skills.

Like your cheek, NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- good try. Looks Dark Blue on my screen too, must be your camera..... surely. We can't ALL be wrong................. can we :laughing2:
Interesting. I have been hunting for just one door finisher for nearly a year and have looked at nearly every car and door for sale on ebay, and contacted many car breakers. This is the very first car or door with finishers on. So suppose one can really describe them as RARE

I saw for sale this 2.5 Connoisseur in Moonstone Green complete with chrome door handle finishers today in Bradford.
You are right the chrome door finishers are rare! but not impossible to find.
As I have not visited the garage maybe a different approach is needed.
Perhaps a visit at midnight with a screwdriver?
Then again that would not be right and there is always the possibility of damaging the door finishers.

Well I suppose they had to show up sometime. Probably like the buses, nothing then 8! come along at the same time.
BTW, if you need funds for Christmas, they come off quite easily with a thin blade, then you stick them on ebay, quick before the club ones are available.
Remembering RARE ......... of course ;)

Seeing that picture reminded me ( if I needed reminding) why I bought my 75 Conn SE in Moonstone Green - isn't it just gorgeous?

Duotone - you do realise that when the door finishers go AWOL one night that you will be the prime suspect.....

Keith. Its a 1.8 Classic SE. Nice wheels, mud flaps, and door finishers,
Anyway, if its good wheather this weekend I will go and take another
photo or two to see if my camera skills can be improved.
I hope the finishers dont go missing as the owner of the garage was looking over my 75
and it wont be hard to trace a duotone 75.

Not being patronising, but feel free to PM me if you want advice on photography.

As for car, looks green in your last photo (ignore the masses - they know nothing. Ooops. Shouldn't have said that. The masses will now make me pay dearly..... This one time, I think everyone ignored me... :laughing2: )

Today, blue sky with a few clouds, so went to photograph BRG
Classic SE with door finishers. Got there at 2pm. would you believe it,
car sold and collected this morning. I had planned on leaving a club flyer
with the car to possibly attract a new member but missed out.
Someone said it was a good price, and so it proved.
Just to add there were three 75s. in Morrisons carpark at Morley, Leeds
today, two with door finishers.
I guess us Yorkshire folk like to spend our money on shiney extras for our 75s.
