Hi Folks
While working on the car I found this tube, what looks to be a short steel breather pipe on top of the Jatco transmission,is this supposed to be open or should it have a tube connected to a filter,I am a bit concerned that as is grit and dirt could enter the system.

Kind Regards Dan Gardner

Never seen a car with a tube on that breather ( and I've seen a few ;) )

Is it at the front of the transmission , under the air filter? Could be the filler missing its bung.

Possilby Mr C :)

hopefully 'twill be the short steel breather on the top, bent at 90deg facing to the rear of the car IIRC, and with a slight bulb shape to it, you would swear it should have a pipe on it, but never, ever seen one. ;)
