View Full Version : Clutch master cylinder?

I'm getting a little judder pulling away in my 190, I've changed the lower mount which helped but it's still there although not really bad and I could live with it. I've checked the fluid level and it's below MAX and not seriously low and there's some stickiness above the clutch pedal but it's not what you'd call wet. The clutch and slave were changed 15000miles ago by the previous owner at a cost of £570 so I'm guessing they're ok which leaves the master cylinder, what do you reckon?

Unlikely to be the master cylinder and as you've replaced the bottom engine tie it tends to leave only the clutch driven plate.
Any trace of oil on the plate can give judder through the clutch as it engages.

I guess I'll live with it then, shame as the master cylinder would have been a relatively easy fix. I'm guessing the stickiness I can feel is fluid leaking from there though?
