Yes, hidden behind the cover of the D pillar. The cover just clips off, nearside I think. You might also check it has its 12v supply.

This is the aerial amp located at the nearside C pilar under the trim.

If you have just changed the headunit then the first thing to check is the aerial connection to the radio.

He he.
Yes, no 4 is an MC badge.

I was actually surprised how many Ariel you can find.

Sure there are even more.

Which radio did you have originally? You may have the FM 'diversity' equipment missing and your rear window aerial may not have enough elements for the Symphony.

The OP's 75 is a late 2003 Club model so would have been fitted with a Ivox or VDO head unit.

The diversity amp fitted to the nearside D pilar was suposed to switch the Symphony to the strongest signal using extra elements in the rear screen.

Retro fitting a Symphony would mean that the diversity wiring and amp would not be fitted.

However the Symphony radio really does not need the diversity signal and works fine without it.

Dave,

A Symphony without diversity will not be able to receive weak signals satisfactorily. I have carried out a practical comparison of two cars with the 'high line' Version of the Symphony: mine with diversity and another member's with the non-diversity rear window and aerial 'amplifier'. Mine can pick up stations which the non-diversity radio cannot. We both heard the difference.

I recently entered the Hatfield tunnel in Hertfordshire which is about three quarters of a mile long, with BBC Radio 2 playing. Even I was surprised when the reception remained stable with good sound reproduction throughout the length of the tunnel.

Simon.

Whether this is relevant or not I'm not too sure, but when I bought my car it had the Harmony Radio fitted, subsequently I fitted the Symphony, I found no difference in Radio reception, and then subsequently after that I fitted a Pioneer DEH-2200UB, and the Radio reception is still good.....?
