Hi, The replacement head has arrived, it is good condition, however the cam drive wheels have been removed prior to posting, which means I have to put mine on there.
For those who have not followed my ealier posts, this is where I cocked up last time and bent the valves.
Is there any photographs on here,or other web sites that can show me exactly how to line up the "V" on the cam wheel with the dowel in the end of the cam shaft? is there a fool proof way of ensuring the cam wheels are in the correct place?
I intend to tackle the swap of the heads etc on Thursday but I'd loke to try to get the cams aligned before that so I can post some pics on here so the more knowledgeable can tell me if what I have done is OK!

Any suggestions etc will be followed up.

Thanks Derek

the dowel pin on the inlet cam must be alligned with the slot that says inlet on the cam pulley and the dowel pin on the exhaust cam must allign with the exhaust slot on the cam pulley (the pulleys are the same hence the 2 locating positions) The writing on the cam pulleys when looking from the drivers wing towards the cams should be EX IN -- EX IN like in the photo

Make sure you change the belt this time too Derek, and remember it's much easier to time up with the crank pulley removed ;)

removed and check the height of the cylinder liners, good luck.

Unless of course you have a set of liner clamps ;)

Hi Mick, Managed to complete the head and even managedto get the timing spot on too, damn thing still failed the MOT due to poor emissions but hope to get that sorted tomorrow.

Thanks for the pics, they were a great help.
