I have been doing the rounds looking for a place to hold our own rolling road day.

A nice modern, clean and respectable place with good reviews from the VW bunch is Awesome Gti (http://www.awesomegti.com/rolling-road) in Manchester

The usual cost is £60+vat for a 2wd rolling road run.

I have contacted them about organising an event, they have said the following,

Hello,
Thanks for the email!!
We can do a rolling road day for your club. Saturdays only and at the moment you will be looking 29th Dec onwards.
Prices are:
2WD - £35.00
4WD - £45.00
A minimum of 10 cars are needed and must be pre-paid with 1 week before the day otherwise it will be cancelled.

I have had it confirmed that you will get 3 dyno runs and a printout with all three runs on.

There is a heated waiting room and a coffee machine too.

So, over to you, what do you think?

Sounds great to me Rich.. tomorrow would be better.. :D:D:D

You can put me down for 2 wheels at least.. lol.. :D

Do they do a 520 hp remap? heh heh...

Well, if they do change any of the car's injectors tomorrow, I'll want to see what it does to the torque and bhp curves.
If they can't find anyting wrong, then I can't think what else to do other than a re-map.
There wouldn't be any point in a rolling road test until I'd had that done.

We are obviously looking at next year for this now, realistically around end of Jan or Feb, assuming I get enough interest.

We can agree a convenient day for everyone, as you can tell, I will need payment up front anyway, there is no rush to book. I just wanted to gauge a response to see if it is worth doing or not

Long time since we last met Mark.

Sorry to hear of what happened to the last one, the replacement sounds rather nice though :D.

Have you still got the rather quick truck :drool4:

If this is at the end of the (or a) month, I'd travel down! I really want to see what mines running after seeing some of the other 177 upgrades come out with good results!

It`s a Ford Lightning SVT 5.4 litre supercharged, chipped and modded, 11.97 secs down the santa pod quarter mile, not bad for a rear wheel drive pick up weighing 2500 pounds :D:D:D:D

Awesome truck! I've always liked those and really fancy a go in one.:drool4::drool4: It must just feel wrong, that kind of power in a pick-up! I've got a lovely Wizards of NOS wet nitrous system sat in my Holden that never gets used (cos with 600 bhp at the back wheels without NOS it just doesn't need it on the road!;)) that would really help at the 'Pod!:D

The money would have to be paid in full the week before, or it would be cancelled.

Due to this RR meet needing a certain number of peeps, and payment up front, it would help if it stayed visible, so people can see it and respond quickly to it.. :}

Any chance of this tread being sticky Paul? (Reebs) ??

The £35 ain't a problem, it's just for fuel getting down, I'll keep you informed though!

Potentially six people for this so far, I see no reason why this should be kept to Rover 75 or MG ZT owners only.

I have a BMW 330 owner that may be interested.

This may be no good for me depending on time I'm afraid as I've got to get my daughter back to Darwen mid afternoon. The weekend before would be great or even Saturday 9 February as I'm working on 2 Feb. I'll see what the final date is before I can say a definite yes.

Any date should be OK for me, but a that time of the year we need to keep our eye on the weather forecast. I know how wrong they can be but speculation from some sources say it's going to be the coldest winter for 100 years with temperatures a low as minus 20-25deg. That means it may well be the warmest Winter on record then:getmecoat::getmecoat:

I don't think Mrs Incensed is dragging me off to warmer climes this winter (unfortunately - if the predictions are accurate) so, at this moment in time, 9th Feb looks good for me. I've put a snow plough on my Rimmer's wish list.:D
