To be honest its always been the same there, the poor waiting staff are at the mercy of a very slow kitchen .
Its a vintage inn and over the years its what ive come to expect from these nosh groups ,.

Expectations are low and they never disappoint .:p:

Its dry and warm but the ritz it aint.

Anyhoo see you there on the 28th.

I would agree with you there George, the waiting staff actually try to please, even Helga was friendly, but the food is generally alright and the Inn has character.

Excellent Tim.
We usually meet say 5.30pm onwards then have teas/coffee/juice in The Hawes Inn and have a meal at 7.30ish, with the weather being cold and wet we just go straight inside The hawes, nice coal fire, parking in the promenade opposite the hawes......look forward to seeing you there Tim....thanks very much.

Hi
Yes was a good night, pehaps I should have complained to Helga that my Octopus soup tasted like tomato and we might have had another free sweet, on the other hand i might have ended up wearing it.LOL

Never mind a good new year to all "you to Helga"
cheers
Greig

Helga is a legend .

She looked at me and asked what we wanted for starters, as I tried to tell her she said (i,m not asking you).

What a woman.

Yip, she certainly put you in your place. At least she has a sense of humour unlike a lot of folk who serve you!
