View Full Version : Xmas Central Norwich meet 20th Dec

Weso
12th December 2012, 08:43
Dear all,

freddie and myself are meeting a visiting area secretary from another area on the evening of 20th Dec in central Norwich.
Venue still to be arranged and discussed.
Appreciate it's the thursday before xmas and Norwich likely to be busy with shoppers and cars etc.
We just thought we would offer it to other local members to gauge interest at this stage. It is possible that subject to enough interest we could book a table at a public house with a car park and take things from there. Needless to say the cars will not feature as such on the night, just a opportunity to meet some faces and have a meal with some good company.
Please use this thread to express your interest and any comments re a suitable venue.

Thanks in advance

Seems to have a large car park.
With only a week to go maybe set a dead line Mark in time to book as its a busy time of the year.

Thanks all, will phone that venue tomorrow, will try to get a table for around 6.30pm? reckon about 5 people subject to any more coming out of the woodwork in next 24 hours or so.
Think a pub slightly out of town with a free car park makes more sense.
Most can find this sort of place with just a postcode etc,
Should allow Redfive (Ian) to have some time in Norwich shopping prior to driving to the pub for a relaxing evening. Will check with venue tomorrow,
and do another count up tomorrow. Partners are welcome and actively encouraged, i am still to find one but working on it......:xmas-smiley-029:

Hi all,

Could someone assist, swiftly

Re the Griffin Pub
The number Snaggy advised is a private address 01603 436051

Web suggests 01603 436071 as does Directory enquires this is unobtainable!

Web also suggests 01603 439211 also unobtainable

Even a BT operator cannot get through on 01603 436071

Any chance someone else could bring some research into this!
Are we sure the pub is trading at the minute...

We want to reserve a table for circa 8 at 6.30pm in the name of the club if possible.

Sorry to here that Mark always seems to come at the worst possible time.

Thanks Freddie,

not ideal obviously, i have been lucky, i am 52 yrs of age and have never been unemployed.
Not sure how i am going to amuse myself, might get myself a Haynes manual and have a tinker.
Seriously i have almost 18 years service and a 4 month notice period.
Hoping they might find me a role in the same building, there might be a opportunity, things will become clearer in the new year.
In the meantime i am looking forward to a lot of spare time and a very fat redundancy cheque in April.
Reckon enough for another 28 ZT's if i felt so inclined, one is enough at the minute!....

Looking forward to tomorrow night, i need some adult company and a change of scenery.....

Regards to all
