Evening everybody this is my first post on this forum although I have been watching the web site for a couple of weeks now and must say what a friendly, intersting and helpful site it appears to be !!
Anyway my question is regarding servicing on a 3 year old 20000 miles MG ZT 2.5 160+, I have been quoted @ £120 for a service at an Xpart service centre (rovetec in stockton cleveland) which appears very reasonable I just wondered if any northern members have used them before, should I have any concerns or am I safe in the knowledge that the centre must provide a reasonable service for it to be X part approved ?? Hope this makes sense !!
Any thoughts appreciated:p:

Welcome to the Club! Good to see you liked it here enough to join! :D

As for servicing, I can't personally comment on the above garage as I'm from the Midlands but being an X-part approved garage they should adhere to MG-Rover servicing schedules and requirements.

You could always ask them what the service they would perform involved then write it down on this forum and I'm sure we (the club) can comment if it's a good deal or not. ;)

Welcome to the club and the forum

Service schedule sheets are available here:-
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/index.php?thepage=techdata

That'll tell you exactly what is what for each type of service.

I'm presuming the £ 120.00 is plus parts

I know a fantastic MGR mechanic in the north west (any use?). Take my car to him all the time. He did my HGF last year and the car has run like a dream ever since.

Drop me a pm and I'll send you his details!

:) Evening all, have had my ZT serviced by Rovetec of Stockton (independant X- PART approved), price for a service type A was indeed £120 all in with no hidden extras. Service check sheet similar to the ones on the data sheets although not exactly the same.
My service included cleaning the plenum drain tubes !!!! and an engine flush and fuel treatment (forte ??)
Rich K thanks - but for £120 I am more than happy to use this garage, north west a bit out of the way for me cheers anyway
Would recommend this garage to any body up north :D :D :D

First class price there GM thanks for letting us all know. Their overheads must be pretty low to do that.

Don't know how far north you are but Lates near Rugby is very good and alot of members use him, he doesn't sell you nothing you don't need, I've used him for my first Cam belt changed and the speed of these guys is second to none well worth the trip, just search the thread out "Lates" or visit them on www.lates600.com or give him a call for a quote.

Hi GM , thanks for that info about a rover garage in stockton.Had someone asking me if i knew of anywhere in the teeside area that could check out his imobilisor on his 75cdt the other day but i couldn't advise. Another garage close to me is Turnbulls Motors in washington who have testbook 4 and are keen to be known that they specialise in Rovers and they have been in business for years . I called in and told them about the club so they may advertise on this site soon.

For reference the A type ( none lpg ) service is a baby service @ 1.1 hrs, without going into the actual figures around £50 for a 1.8, to £60 ish for a KV6 all inc.

whether correct thread not too sure but just to let the North East lot know particularly in the Newcastle Area, Gateshead Kia,Sheerlegs Road ,Felling 0191 4780500 is where the former Rover dealership on Etherstone Avenue in Heaton have now moved too and this lot are for Rover owners and nearest bodyshop is on 0191 4954300.

NO WAY involved with this lot simply received notification from them on where I may take the car (as a former Rover customer) if servicing required since the above in Heaton closed.

Thanks for the heads up Z135T

I'm sure that will be very useful for any other members in your neck of the woods.

Re: Rover servicing near Marske:

I believe Greaves in Hutton Rudby, although no longer a franchised Rover dealer, still has its T4 and provides servicing for our cars.

Geo Harrison of Whitby (where I bought my 75 just before the bankruptcy) is still a very active Rover dealer with all the right equipment, but charges very expensive dealer prices. I use an independent in Ruswarp called Colin Hogarth, who not only does a great job, but is very reasonably priced and is approved for servicing by Warranty Direct.

Hope this helps.
