I've used Comma 10W40 in my V6 for over 4 years and change it around 8,000 mls,and the oil still looks and smells fresh.

Not online that I know of but Andy Monaghan is a great bloke and an official Millers Oils dealer. He sends me oil through the post and he's cheaper than what I found on the Internet last time I used him. A 5 litre tub of the correct 10w/40 XSS for your car is £19.50 I think. His number is 07931 770494 :)

I get my Millers in 25L containers from Robin Longdon at Woodcote Automotives. He is the retail outlet of Millers, a sort of MillersDirect, and his prices are always competetive. Contact 01565 653 658.

Alternatively, Demoinoils - they do free postage on orders above £60 and are online.

Alf, go with this: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/engineoils/10w40-engine-oil/?521772481&0&cc5_245

I know you have to buy 2,but you will have left-over for topping-up and you will only need 1 next time.... £28.00 for 2 with our discount! - It's what I've got.... And you know I don't put ***** in my car, (except me that is!).... ;)

Thanks Bill

I will take your advice. Thank you.

Your car is looking as good as ever.

Unfortunately I'e had to hand mine over to garage at moment with a mystery brake problem ! Most things have been changed, discs, pads, bearing, abs ring, abs sender. But can't find problem. Just waiting to have new ABS pump module fitted to see if this is the problem. I have no ABS warning lights on, just a vibration coming up through the brake pedal ! and a noise coming from the drivers side front brake

Problem is, normally I would do it myself, but out of question at moment. Fortunately when it's up and running my wife drives it OK. Otherwise it might have to go :sad3::sad3:

Any way thanks for your usual expert advice

Thanks also to others who replied

Cheers

Sorry to hear that Alf - I heard that it was in the shop..... Very strange...?? I hope you get it sorted, just a pain that it's obviously cost so much!!!
Usually a vibration through the pedal is Disc related. (Warped). I will be intrigued to hear the prognosis?
Anyway, glad to be of help.

Hope to see you soon at the next 'Poole' Meet..... ;)

does the coke have a role to play in this discussion? Is it the oil addition equivalent of millers additives for diesel??

Yes, but seeing as the V6's take 5.5lts you will still need to buy another 1lt at £9.99 making it over £32.00 for only 6lts!

And pray do tell, how is Petronas worse than Mobil...? I would say they are as good as each other. And I have nothing against Mobil, I used to use the same as your suggestion before I found one just as good but a lot cheaper - and if it's good enough for Mercedes it's certainly good enough for Rover! ;)

Bill its a figure of speech i am not saying the oil you use is any worse i was pointing out that Mobil was on offer at halfords at the moment so i bought some for my cars, in my case i have the extra from the last time it was on offer, i am sure the OP will find an oil he likes to use his self in the end as you and i have.

Any decent oil is ok as long as it's change regular i change mine every 6 months all have a nice day Arctic ;)
