Anybody have any experience of the hydramount. The cone shaped engine mount on the front of a diesel engine?. It sounds like it should have fluid in it, and I have read about checking for leaks, but it looks just like a lump of rubber to me.

Yes, it has fluid in it which is why it is called a Hydramount. I have read reports of the rubber section breaking away. I check mine by feeling the vibration on top of the engine and then the vibration on the off side front wing to which the Hydramount is bolted. The difference is very impressive.
