Hi, I have just started to use one of Maguiars products i.e.

detailing spray. What is the difference between the detailing

spray and Maguiars Quick Wax. (Are they both waxes?).

Somewhat confused (to say the least). Its my age I suppose!!!!!

As you know, ever the same.

Detailing Spray does not contain waxes whereas the Quik Wax does....

I use this one: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g17516-ultimate-quik-wax/

And this: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/a1616-quik-waxreg/

And this: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/a1216-cleaner-wax-liquid/

And this: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g10810-gold-class-trim-detailer-10-oz/

And this: http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/a2516-soft-wash-gel/

And that's about it on the Meguiars..... :D

Quik Wax is a wax, it is a last stage protection product.

Quik Detailer doesn't contain any wax, it's merely a quick cleaner and enhancer of whatever last stage product you already have applied. How it does this exactly you can look into if you're bothered.

Seeing how good your car looks, I think I am going to get hold of that little lot.
I already have the Meguiars Cleaner Wax, but haven't got round to using it yet ;):D

Its not quite that simple. Many quick detailers do contain waxes, most do in fact, but they tend to contain ingredients that capture dirt and allow its safe removal. They can be used on slightly dusty cars to refresh the finish, or on cars that have finger marks etc I use them to remove bird poop and asa drying aid for a rub down after a wash.

Meguiars Quik wax is a hybrid. It is a sealant (which is a synthetic wax), and can be used as a final top coat but can be used as a QD as well, but only a light one for use after a wash.

Remember the manufacturers dont follow the naming conventions properly, im not even sure if Quik wax contains any natural wax at all!

Quick detailers arent going to give much protection on their own, so use a wax or sealant, then top up with a detailer after washes. The Meguiars quik wax is very easy to use, so you could use it for everything.

Hi all, Just read all the replies, thanks for answering, so using the

Quick wax would be the last stage in the cleaning process?

As you know, ever the same.

Yes its a top coat, but there is no reason you cant put a wax over it if you fancied.

Its quite common for quik wax to streak, if so just apply a couple of coats.
