I continue to experiment with different car cleaning products, to find that magical combination. :D I previously used Meguiars #21 sealant topped with Meguiars #16 paste wax. I got very good results from that.

However, I have just got a finish that has a lot more depth to it. I used Carlack Nano Systematic Care topped with a Layer of Carlack Long Life Sealant. Over that I applied two coats of Dodo Juice 'Banana Armour' wax. Her is the result

Looking good Ray,

But to test your combination out i really think you should try it on a dark coloured car............. Say a midnight blue R75 :D

Just spotted a mark on your bonnet and then realised it's a dead pixel on my monitor !

I am still using Poorboys Nattys Blue on my Black 75 which gives good results and i am happy with it but must admit yours looks in showroom condition - is it all by hand or do you use a polisher ?

I get much the same effect with an old sponge in a bucket of water and fairy liquid every other month.

NOT

I have done it by hand. The products used have done a good job of hiding the swirl marks that are on the car. I did consider a polisher, but I have decided to have it professionally polished - if I did it myself, I would probably remove the paint in a few months :D

I agree you can't go wrong with the DoDo. I have tried several waxes, but Dodo Juice Banana Armour has been the best so far. Easy to apply and buff, leaving a really nice deep shine.

Mr. Bitsy, how did you find the Carlack on its own before the wax? Specifically, in terms if swirl disguising.

Although vaguely obsessive, I'm not sure I could find the time for the 'sweet spot' you've found with the 3 coats of wax over the 'twins' (I read the cleanyourcar forum too ;)), but I've invested in the SC and LLS and will most likely leave it at a couple of coats of LLS rather than waxing over the top.

Just wondering what to look forward to, hopefully this weekend.

great finish, from experience it won't last very long though :(

The Carlack 'twins' will give a very deep shine. The finish will be like a 'mirror', with all detail being reflected in the finish. Adding wax on top will convert some of that detail into a more 'rich' looking finish. The depth of shine will still be the same though.

The Carlack twins will mask swirl marks. My car has plenty, but after application, they can't be seen from most angles, even in bright sun.

I don't like the Carlack twins by themselves as I don't like a mirror finish. I don't like just a wax finish either, as it is all richness with much less depth to the shine.

The combination of Carlack as a base, to give the depth of shine, and the wax to add richness, is ideal for me.

I could have kicked myself at the Yorkshire meet last week - did you read my thread over at CleanYourCar about stripping off my wax with too strong a wash solution? The car was really dirty, so I added more shampoo to the water - I didn't realise the solution was strong enough to remove the wax and sealant

So I went to the meet with paintwork nowhere near as nice as the images posted on here :(
