Hope you don't mind me asking Aldo but how much did you pay to have the fog lights added to your bumper and for spraying? Also which company did it as I would like to do something similar with mine.

No not at all I got JB coach works PAISLEY to carry the work out they normally charge around £2-250 a bumper because of the fog mod I paid £500 witch to be fair was ok as he spent a lot of hours on it. however it could be done as a DIY project or some body shops my do it cheaper:}

I'm presuming that JB is Jimmie Biggam? Do you know if he's still got the V8 DTM shell?

Please excuse the hijack. :}

Tony no he sold it last year as he was moving to bigger premises :) he's not got any V8 ZTs or 75s at the moment but you never know with Jim I picked up a 75 V8 for him when I was down south few years back and he sold it on to focus on the V8 DTM shell.:}

That's a good price for the work he had done to transform the bumper into what you have done plus painting it because I bet your paint colour wasn't cheap either.
So it's the Roewe bumper and grill that you needed plus the bottom half of a facelift bumper?

However i have a few iissues to solve first, the wash wipe bottle thats located under the front wheel arch is hard up against the sidel lights and the air intake box is rubbing up against one of the new fogs fitted so the bodyshop have told me in order to fit the Roewe bumper these two parts will have to be removed i have since been on the phone to Brian at Dreadnought to explain these findings and in his reply he's said that the chinese bumpers should fit am thinking its a V8 thing maybe wash wipe bottle and air box is a different size? if anyone is considering doing this modification probably best to wait and see what the out come is as the car is going to Dreadnought Garage on Thursday:(

Update on the ZT from Dreadnought as pictured above bumper off & washer bottle back in place so fingers cross i get more good news as still to here if the air box is going to fit?

Just looking at that picture of the car with the bumper off; the first thing I noticed is that the washer bottle is on the opposite side in a V8.

So the issues with the Roewe bumper probably do only affect the V8s. I can't think why I've never noticed that before.

It looks amazing. And I'm loving the fusion of the classic rear spoiler with the new bumper. And a stunning colour too. No, I'm not jealous. Not one little bit. Not me, no.

Washer bottle needs to be modified as the nearside light on bumper won't fit unless we do the following

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/p480x480/488015_438729569551750_360439359_n.jpg

Has anyone else had this problem with this bumper Tim Burgess informed me that the washer bottle is positioned on the off side of the cars on all non V8 models, but it got me thinking you would still have the same problem just on the other side.

im sure the 1.8 turbo's washer bottle is on the n/s also

Greeners
23rd April 2013, 21:32
1.8 Turbo's and V8's have the washer bottle on the nearside, all other FWD cars have the bottle are on the offside and a totally different shape.

The original MGR premium bumper fits the V8 without any fuss, so The Rowe one must have something different, and it's probably the combine fog / indicator unit

I've got one of the roewe bumpers on there way at the end of month, and I have a 1.8turbo, the washer bottle is on the n/s, same as picture. Gonna be an interesting install, already got the bits to change the fog light connections, now the washer bottle to contend with!:(

Just remember these washer bottles are few and far between...... and not cheap when the do come up either

Hence, is the consensus of opinion that you need a new washer bottle if yours is on the passenger side (ie 1.8T or V8) but not if you have 1.8 or V6, where the bottle is on the driver's side?

I have a V6 and have just had a Roewe grille fitted and am trying to ascertain if I need a new bottle when I attempt to fit headlamp washers.

Cheers,

Dave

I think you should be safe with the washer bottle on the V6
