I have just got myself one of those battery charger conditioner things, And the instructions aren't the clearest, Could someone who understands electrics confirm for me that I can connect it (to keep the battery topped up as I don't do many miles) with the battery leads still connected to the battery?

It's going to be a hassle to take the leads on and off when I want to keep it topped up.

Had one for a motorbike years ago and was sure that was wired up for good with a connector block for quick connection.

The instructions are not very explicit on this point are they!

Personally, I prefer to disconnect a battery when I charge it.
This prevents any over voltage produced by the charger (or mains surges and spikes) getting into the vehicle wiring.
With the amount electronics in modern vehicles, its not worth the risk.
